A 1914 blast from the past! ?? Back when First Class postage was just 2 cents. Print has a unique way of preserving memories, and it’s amazing how these treasures stand the test of time. Shoutout to Syracuse institution HJ Howe Jewelers—this beautiful calendar book was found among my mother’s belongings, and I couldn’t resist keeping it intact. And a nod to Livermore & Knight, renowned for their "small format" books and postcard printing since the 1890s. Their craftsmanship truly made history. Let’s continue celebrating the timeless power of print! #Throwback #PrintHistory #PreservingMemories #PrintingIndustry #VintagePrint #SyracuseNY #SmallFormatPrinting?

It’s amazing the look on someone’s face when they see that you are actually listening to them, and not just waiting for them to finish speaking so that you can talk. Try it!

Having the courage and confidence to ask for this type of feedback is powerful. Give it a try, you will learn something new about yourself, and most likely earn the respect of your peers for asking.

Where are your conversations taking you and what are you working on that'll bring even more success to you this year? #conversations #print #directmail #packaging #bebetter

Connect the dots:?Though meaningful conversations you gain insights into the goals and challenges the person may have. This allows you to customize your talk track to their anticipated needs and it doesn’t sound like a canned pitch or response. You’re also able to validate the research you’ve done on the business and better understand if it's a situation where you can make a positive impact. Note: how many unsolicited pitches do you receive from people and organizations that can offer life-changing solutions to you, yet it’s apparent that they don’t know anything about your business and there is no fit at all. Don’t be that person! #meaningfulconversations #print #directmail #packaging #sellmore

Getting meetings with enterprise print prospects is increasingly challenging in today's digital world. While email, social media and texts serve a purpose, meaningful conversations build stronger connections and trust. Through conversations, sales professionals can understand prospects' needs, establish personal connections, and demonstrate expertise. Like a doctor shouldn't prescribe without examination, salespeople shouldn't pitch without understanding their prospects' situations. Building trust solely through digital communications is difficult, making authentic conversations vital for moving beyond commodity-based decisions. Three takeaways for you to work on: ?? Meaningful conversations help validate research and customize solutions ?? Personal connections through conversation build trust and avoid commodity-based decisions ?? Digital communication alone isn't enough to establish trusted business relationships #printsales #salesleadership #trustedadvisor

Most customers are good, some are just gooder than others. The key is to know the difference and to take action. #print #directmail #packaging #customersegmentation

Not every customer is a win. Some are a cost you can’t afford. Great businesses don’t serve everyone. They serve the right ones — exceptionally well. Great businesses succeed by saying "no" more than "yes." They know who their ideal customers are. What makes an ideal customer? ? Your solution fixes their burning, expensive problem ? Your offering directly impacts their key priorities ? They see clear, measurable ROI from your work When you truly help them, they naturally: ? Value you ? Refer others ? Pay promptly ? Give feedback ? Stay long-term Ideal customers don’t just buy — they become partners. I've seen it firsthand: A CEO client fired their bottom 20% of customers. Result? - They got their time and focus back. - Revenue grew 40% with half the stress in a year. Your action steps: 1. List your top 5 most profitable customers 2. Find what they have in common 3. Say "no" to anyone who doesn't match Found this valuable? ?? Repost to your network ?? Since I’m already burying Change Management today, make some room for Agile… ?? Agile is dead. There, I said it. Once a brilliant workaround for rigid bureaucracies and inflexible leadership, Agile allowed teams to collaborate quickly and effectively. But somewhere along the way, it got lost. Here’s why I believe Agile failed: 1?? It became a checklist. What started as a mindset turned into a rigid process. Standups, sprints, and backlogs became meaningless rituals, with teams focusing on going through the motions instead of embracing Agile’s core values. 2?? Scaling without culture. Organizations scaled Agile frameworks like SAFe without addressing cultural issues, creating more bureaucracy instead of the flexibility Agile was meant to foster. 3?? Speed over value. Teams rushed to deliver “something” quickly, but often it wasn’t what mattered. Activity replaced impact, and Agile became busywork. 4?? Leadership resistance. Agile demands trust and autonomy, but many managers aren’t ready to give up control. Without their buy-in, teams struggled to make it work. 5?? Consulting overkill. Consultants saw the business and turned Agile into a product, overselling it as a miracle cure and a sort of also failing Change Management, which it isn't. 6?? Ignoring the human factor. Agile pushed teams to deliver at breakneck speed without addressing well-being or trust. Burnout followed, and engagement plummeted. The lesson? Agile didn’t fail on its own—it was sabotaged by poor leadership, misinterpretation, and an obsession with process over people. True change begins with something simpler than Agile or any framework: authentic leadership asks employees the one question that really matters: “How are you?” It’s time to leave behind miracle tools and focus on the mindsets and cultures that create lasting #transformation.
