Philadelphia’s only nonprofit, non-partisan media outlet with a focus on solutions journalism
关于我们
The Philadelphia Citizen is a non-profit, non-partisan media organization with a dual mission: to provide deeply reported journalism that emphasizes solutions that can move our region forward, and to actively reignite citizenship in and around Philadelphia. We seek to identify our innovators, call out those who stand in the way of progress and shine a light on the next generation of Philly leadership — all while giving Philadelphians the interactive tools they need to become more involved, engaged citizens. Philadelphia doesn’t just need another news organization. It needs journalism that focuses on solutions that, together, we can help bring to fruition.

One of this year's Rad Award winners sharing much needed post-election insight. Check it out:
Here is how I get through days like today, this is the video I sent the team... I ask myself who is less likely to be supported in a trump presidency? I get it every administration has to have priorities, and those priorities are rooted in people who get more or less attention / support. Ask yourself who do you believe is going to get screwed in a 2nd term, find an organization and start volunteering for those people. Today we at Seer in Philly are signing up to volunteer serving meals at Broad Street Love, in a month, during our work day, sign your team up for something today, get it as part of your routine. 8 years ago, I decided to double down or start working with people coming out of the prison system, veterans, and people who are experiencing homelessness / food insecurity. If you are a CEO use your power to do things like: Letting people (in good standing) volunteer during the work day, so that the places that speak to their heart they can work with. Organize group volunteer efforts If you have the $$ hire someone whose job it is to help people who want to do good find it easily. (Follow Joanna Bowen she leads these efforts at Seer), links coming below on what we've learned if you want to try to stand up a volunteer program at your company.
