    Spc. Visual Identity

I am so happy to announce that I will be working in the Brand Content & Culture department at McDonald's as a Spc. Visual Identity! ???? Despite my start date being April 1st, this is no joke! I will contribute to the growth of McDonald's by leveraging creativity, culture, and innovation. I will help bring world-class campaigns to life, shaping culture and crafting unforgettable experiences. Collaborating with agency partners, I will support the development and execution of visual identities across key brand narratives, including Core Food Products, Brand Relevance, Family/Happy Meal, Value, Trust, and Digital. It feels as though this opportunity just fell into my lap but in reality, it took a lot of hard work to get here. I couldn't be more grateful for the people who have helped me get to this point such as Marwen for my first formal art education, The Chicago High School for the Arts for my unique high school education, The Art Institute of Chicago for the professional development they gave me as a teen, Chicago Scholars for making college a reality, The University of Michigan Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design for my college experience, Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for the brotherhood I didn't know I needed, MERGE for introducing me to the industry, and COOP for providing with the skills and resources to get this job. This might be my victory but I carry everyone with me in my heart as I navigate this whole thing we call "life"????

  • ?? First-year MFA student River Forest Berry’s (MFA '26) work stitches together memory, tradition, and contemporary art through quilting, performance, and site-specific installation. By reimagining quilting as a form of autoethnography, River transforms fabric into a vessel for personal and collective histories. Each stitch holds a story, passing down memory and tradition while questioning how craft can evolve beyond functionality. In recent projects, nostalgia takes center stage—where the comfort of quilts meets the discomfort of memory. Through performance, River activates their work, draping themselves in quilts as a physical and emotional act of confronting the past. Their practice asks: What do quilts pass down? How does art illuminate the transmission of memory? View work by River and our other first-year MFA candidates in Warped Routes! ??? Opening reception: March 28 ? 6 – 8 PM ?? Faculty and Graduate Studios: 1919 Green Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48109 ??? Viewings March 29-April 19 are available by appointment only.
