Key focus areas include: - Recruitment and retention - Compensation and career pathways - Staff wellbeing - BIPOC leadership Explore innovative workforce strategies from the afterschool, early childhood, and nonprofit sectors in this tool developed by Afterschool Alliance, the California School-Age Consortium (CalSAC), Every Hour Counts, the National AfterSchool Association (NAA), National Summer Learning Association, National Urban League, and the Partnership for Children and Youth. Apprenticeships for America will hold an information session for anyone interested in learning more about the current State Apprenticeship Expansion Grant solicitation from the US Department of Labor.?The webinar will take place at 2:00 ET on March 11. The webinar will be of interest to state agencies working on the grant and apprenticeship stakeholders interested in working with states as they develop their proposals. ?This webinar is about the State Apprenticeship Expansion Grant opportunity that the US Department of Labor released in January. This $85 million grant solicitation is critical to the federal government's support for state apprenticeship work. Join The Pathways Alliance for "Revolutionizing Educator Pathways: Credentialing and Data Systems for a Scalable, Learner-Centric Workforce" on March 4 at 3:50pm MT. This panel, including Dr. Rita Fennelly-Atkinson (@digital-promise), Kymberly Lavigne-Hinkley (@western-governors-university), and Kathlene Campbell (@national-center-for-teacher-residencies), will explore the critical role credentials are poised to play in educator data workforce systems, including how a new project is using the district (employer), IHE (credential issuer), and the state (licensure) to create a learner and employment record for educators in educator preparation and apprenticeship programs. With educator apprenticeship programs scaling from 2 to 32 states in just over a year, this innovative approach to reciprocity, credentialing, and data infrastructure is poised to address critical needs in the educator data ecosystem and will also put the learner in control of their record. On Wednesday, February 26th, TEACHMEducation Services Project Manager, Ellie Fitzgerald presented a vision for addressing the educator workforce crisis impacting all communities at the New York State Legislature’s Hearing for Labor & Workforce Development. Ellie emphasized that having well trained educators is essential since education tightly weaves together NYS workforce and economic development. How? Educators undergird all career paths by equipping students to become the workforce of tomorrow. Utilizing the gold standard of apprenticeships to train our future educators is an important and logical step as we face this crisis. Education is New York State's largest public spending program. This makes investing in registered apprenticeships for educators the smartest investment the NYS legislature can make to serve the students, taxpayers, and economic prosperity of NYS.
