#ICYMI This month, Fellows in Minnesota took a moment to reflect during their Fall Wellness Friday Retreat. This special in-person session for participants of the Minnesota Black Fellows Program partnered with Reviving Roots Therapy & Wellness to take on a crucial question for our participants, how to maintain authentic, compassionate, brave, and innovative leadership while ensuring our own wellbeing? The day was filled with meaningful moments. The morning began with some hands-on healing with a Somatic Practices Workshop presented by Njigia Bisong where participants focused in on honing skills to notice, honor and release the emotional wounds we store in the body. We were then joined by Minnesota Black Fellow Alumni, Adriene Thornton, Chestevia Gibson, PharmD, DPLA, and Simon K. G. to share their insights on pursing their leadership journeys and balancing the wellness of themselves, their teams, and their families in the process. Finally, we were joined by Partnership President and CEO Pratt Wiley and Benaree Wiley, the first CEO of The Partnership, to share their reflections on Authentic Leadership and opening doors for future leaders of color, in a conversation that was aptly named, “The Wiley Living Room” to end the day. We extend our gratitude to our partners at Reviving Roots, as well as our friends at Potlikker Catering and our amazing event photographer Awa Malley who helped make this event a success!

Welcoming the Next Generation Executive Program Class of 2025! Last week, The Partnership kicked off an inspiring Immersion Week, marking the start of the six-month journey for the Next Generation Executive Program Class of 2025. This dynamic cohort, composed of 60+ leaders from 15 states and the UK, brings together a wealth of diverse experiences across sectors and geographies. During this transformative week, participants engaged in powerful sessions designed to equip them with the tools and strategies to thrive at the highest levels of leadership and make meaningful impact in their communities. Here are some highlights: John J. Hughes led a deep dive into Emotional Intelligence, exploring how self-awareness and empathy are critical to effective leadership. Judy Shen-Filerman brought the future into focus with insights on Leading with Diversity in the Global Marketplace, challenging our perspectives on inclusivity in a globalized world. Dr. Laura Morgan Roberts examined the intersection of Race, Work, and Leadership, providing a thought-provoking exploration of how to navigate race relations in leadership spaces. Dr. Heather Mattie guided us through the complexities of the Promise and Threat of AI, shedding light on the opportunities and challenges of emerging technologies. A vibrant Celebration of Food and Culture was brought to life by renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson, highlighting the importance of culture in leadership. A fascinating Political Panel with Partnership President & CEO, Pratt Wiley and Vp of Engagement, Jacquetta Van Zandt (She/Her/Hers) sparked conversations around leadership in a political context. Former Partnership President & CEO, Benaree Wiley and our Chief Operations Officer, Carmen Arce discussed Board Readiness, offering valuable insights into preparing for leadership at the board level. India Gary-Martin shared powerful strategies on Leadership Brand Management, emphasizing the importance of a strong personal brand. Arivee Vargas, J.D. inspired the cohort with Charting a Bold Path for Personal and Professional Growth, encouraging leaders to break new ground in their careers. Dr. Vijay Govindarajan (VG) provided a forward-thinking approach to strategy with The Three-Box Solution, challenging us to balance innovation with sustaining leadership excellence. Throughout the week, participants also engaged in cohort coaching sessions, building community and honing their skills for the journey ahead. As we close the first phase of this remarkable program, we look forward to what's next and are grateful to our network of partners, managers, and leaders for supporting the growth of these exceptional executives. Stay tuned for more updates as the Class of 2025 continues to evolve and lead with purpose! #NextGenLeaders #ExecutiveLeadership #DiversityInLeadership #LeadershipDevelopment #NGEClassOf2025 #MyPartnership
