Nothing makes us more grateful for our LA community than on-the-ground work! A HUGE thank you UNICORN in every stall for donating 6,000 pads to our partner @unionrescuemission – a non-profit dedicated to ending homelessness in Los Angeles. The Pad Project also donated 5,000 tampons to Union Rescue Mission. A huge thank you goes out to our TPP co-founders, Claire Taback Sliney and Charlotte Silverman who helped deliver this donation!?? There's something urgent happening in LA that not many people are thinking about. While the fires have forced many into shelters, there's a hidden crisis: people who menstruate are stuck without basic period products. Think about it - they've already lost so much, and now they're dealing with this incredibly personal challenge while trying to put their lives back together. And this isn't just an LA problem. Whether it's war zones or places hit by natural disasters, this same situation plays out everywhere, everyday. The Pad Project has been there before, getting period products to people in crisis. Right now, we need to step up for the folks in LA shelters who left home with literally just the clothes they're wearing. It's a small thing that can make a huge difference in someone's dignity during this tough time. Menstrual health is finally receiving the attention it deserves on the global agenda, and it’s long overdue. Menstrual health is often overlooked in the conversation about sustainable development, yet it's crucial for achieving gender equality, health, and overall economic growth. The World Economic Forum highlights how access to proper menstrual care can empower women, reduce health risks, and contribute to long-term societal progress. From better hygiene products to education and policy advocacy, The Pad Project continues to break the taboos, raise awareness, and drive systemic change that supports every individual's health and dignity. ?? https://lnkd.in/gPNiaiv2 #MenstrualHealth #SustainableDevelopment #GenderEquality #Health #Empowerment #SDGs #WorldEconomicForum

As the nation comes together to support those impacted by the Los Angeles Wildfires, we invite you to reflect on a critical yet often overlooked aspect of disaster relief: menstrual health. With the support of Natural Cycles°, we are proud to have donated 20,000+ menstrual products to wildfire relief. More updates to come as we continue working with our partners to distribute products! Join us to support women and girls during the Los Angeles fires. In times of crisis, menstrual products are not only necessities—but can help displaced individuals feel a sense of normalcy amid dignity and chaos. Your donation, no matter the size, helps ensure that menstrual health is a key part of relief, wherever disaster strikes. ?? What would you do if a natural part of life kept you from going to school? For millions of girls, the stigma around menstruation and lack of hygiene products lead to lost education and shattered opportunities. It’s time to break the silence, improve access, and ensure no girl is left behind. Thank you to Nick Kristof and Trisha Mukherjee for highlighting this critical issue in the NY Times. Parents gathered at Zibby's Bookshop in Santa Monica to hear Cara Natterson, MD, pediatrician, and New York Times Best selling author of "This Is So Awkward: Modern Puberty Explained" moderate a panel about how #givingback and finding one's purpose improves mental health and brain development in teens and adolescents. I was honored to join to discuss youth activism at The Pad Project, alongside Sonali Bridges, the dynamic founder of Shero's Rise.?????? ??
