We are shining the #O6Afterschool spotlight on Dayna, a 6th grade student at Manning Junior High School in #ClarendonCountySC. Dayna’s favorite part of the O6 Afterschool program is having qualified teachers available to help her get her homework done. Dayna’s hard work is paying off! Her mom tells us that Dayna’s grades in Math and ELA are improving. Dayna’s mom says that she is "so proud" of her daughter! Way to go Dayna! readySC and retrainSC representatives Angie Ellis and Nicole Goode volunteered with SCEDA (SC Economic Development Association) Women at the Original Six Foundation. Founded by Nikki Haley while she was Governor, the Original Six Foundation provides books to disadvantaged schools and students in SC as well as sponsor after school programs in some of these schools.

Richard Carroll Elementary's #O6Afterschool students tapped into their creativity making paper sculptures and masks! Not only are they fun, but art programs motivate children to come to school. *That's not the only benefit of focusing on art in school.
