关于我们

Nine women, seeking an innovative education for children, founded The Orchard School in 1922 as a progressive school. As an independent, non-sectarian school for students in preschool through grade eight, The Orchard School is committed to the following: The Orchard School guides each student to develop the knowledge, confidence and character essential for a life of learning, leadership and positive contribution to society. Orchard teachers average approximately 14.7 years of experience. Through progressive teaching methods, Orchard teachers unlock a passion for life-long learning by engaging the natural curiosity of a child. Challenging and child-centered, Orchard creates an environment where children are heard and allowed to be themselves and promotes the education of the "whole child," through social and emotional learning. Students learn values of inclusivity through multicultural education, and learn respect for the outdoors with more than 40 acres of outdoor classroom. The successes of Orchard can be quantified by the outcomes of its graduates. More than 85 percent of Orchard graduates are on honor roll or high honors in high school. Many Orchard graduates have become National Merit Scholarship finalists and matriculate to colleges such as Indiana University, Harvard, Columbia, North Carolina, USC, Butler, Purdue, Notre Dame, Brown, Xavier, and more.
