Huge congratulations to our reporter Natalie Orenstein who has won an excellence in journalism award from the Society of Professional Journalists Northern California chapter for her “Inside eviction court” series which examined the flood of housing cases after expiration of the pandemic-era moratoriums. A well-deserved recognition to an outstanding journalist committed to serving her community with stellar local news! “I’m grateful to work for a newsroom that encourages and enables reporters to dive deep into important stories,” said Orenstein. “The eviction bans were unprecedented policies meant to protect renters during the pandemic.
