Take a look at the grand opening of the new Woodstock Bay! Our civil group is proud to have played a key role in completing this project for the City of Superior, and surrounding communities.

An early morning snapshot of Nordic Group’s Marine Team getting the barges ready to take off from the Duluth/Superior Harbor for the long trek up the North Shore of Minnesota! The barges will be utilized to support material and heavy machinery for the replacement of an older raw water intake structure. This structure allows water to be safely withdrawn from Lake Superior and then conveyed back to the water treatment plant. Nordic Group’s (Nordic) civil team recently completed the Woodstock Bay Boat Launch Redevelopment project along the St. Louis River in Superior, WI. This transformative initiative turns a piece of land into a vibrant community space that celebrates Superior's natural resources and offers countless opportunities for outdoor recreation, and community gatherings. The low-impact design of this project includes 15,300 sq ft of porous brick pavers, enhancing the drive and creating a parking lot with more space for vehicles such as trucks and trailers to park, a new kayak and small boat launch that allows users to explore the St. Louis River with ease. The project also features a new restroom, a pavilion for gatherings, a floating dock, and three elevated lookout areas that offer stunning views of the surroundings. Additionally, a new trail system encourages walking, hiking, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. The Woodstock Bay Boat Launch is now a perfect spot for recreation, relaxation, and enjoying time with family and friends.
