The Nonlinear Path #19: Light Your Flame...Cultivate Your Internal Energy To Protect, Grow, and Achieve What You Want In Life Life is rarely straightforward. Our journeys are marked by obstacles, opportunities, and the need to adapt to ever-changing circumstances. To navigate this nonlinear path, one of the most powerful tools we can develop is our internal energy—a vital force that empowers us to protect our peace, grow our potential, and achieve our dreams. This energy is not about physical strength alone. It is about awareness, control, and direction. When cultivated, it becomes a guiding force that allows us to remain steady in chaos, push forward when others hesitate, and extend our influence beyond ourselves. In the early nineties, at the lowest point of my life, I embarked on a path of healing and personal growth through training in martial arts. One of the first things I learned how to do was to ‘light my flame’, another term for developing internal energy for protection and power. It remains one of the most valuable and useful lessons of my life so far. I was reluctant to start asking for support until I got clear on what Struktur and I were going to be doing. I wanted to make sure I could provide consistent content. While I hope to always make my content free to everyone, the financial support allows me to keep creating. I chose to join both Substack and Patreon because their mission is to support creators. I control my content, I own my content, and I receive the bulk of the money for my creative work (they take a small fee, versus them giving me a few pennies per stream, etc). I Don’t Give A Damn About Your Bad Education: The Reality Of #AI The articles and stories surrounding the fear of AI are not unfounded. While the proper approach to quell fear is to find the positives and opportunities, it is a good idea to make ourselves aware of the realities and possible pitfalls. Having our heads in the sand won’t change what is coming. Being a leader of how this new energy gets directed can change where it heads. Ai is already quietly replacing jobs under several other guises and labels.?Newsweek reported?this past December that ‘nearly four in 10 business leaders said layoffs are happening to replace workers with AI.’ The true numbers aren’t clear at all. Companies that report layoffs due to jobs migrating to AI are getting pummeled and bashed. No wonder others are hiding the truth. Many of them don’t even know if the jobs will be replaced by AI. Many companies are freezing hiring and restructuring so that they can buy time to figure it out. It’s time to empty our cups of what we think we know, stop thinking we are old dogs who can’t learn new tricks, and buckle down to some fresh education. The second curve will need to be a healthy blend of figuring out what knowledge we have to share and learning how to use the modern tools we need to share it. #Singapore is on the front end of this curve and we could learn something from their example. The country has implemented a new program of free education for all citizens over the age of 40 to learn AI and #stayrelevant to their economy and culture.
