The IOC Reports Around 5 billion people - 84 per cent of the potential global audience - followed the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The 2024 Paris Olympics saw a significant surge in digital engagement, with 412 billion engagements from 270 million social media posts, a 290% increase from the previous Games. This increased visibility drove record results for Media Rights-Holders (MRHs). Globally, there was a 13-fold increase in social media engagements on MRH handles. Moreover, 70% of the global audience consumed content across both television and digital platforms. Overall, global viewers watched 28.7 billion hours of coverage, a 25% increase, averaging nine hours per viewer.
