?? Save Energy Tip: Use Power Strips for Efficiency ?? Did you know that many of your home electronics still consume energy even when they're turned off? This is called “phantom power” and it adds up on your electricity bill. One simple solution is to plug your devices into a smart power strip. These strips cut power when devices are not in use, helping you save energy without extra effort. It’s a quick and effective way to reduce energy waste and keep your bills in check! #WinterEnergySavings #SaveEnergyNYC #ReduceBills #PowerStripTips #DIYEnergySavings #EnergyEfficiency #CleanEnergyProject #ImmigrantWomen

Empowering immigrant women in NYC to obtain meaningful employment or pursue education in NYC, and to build community.
关于我们
The American Dream asserts hard work equals success. The truth is that this American Dream is unreachable for many immigrants, and for many immigrant women especially. Regardless of where they are from and their education level, women are more likely to be out of the workforce or underemployed. This is particularly the case for immigrant women who lack a US education: one in three are out of the workforce, and many more remain employed in low-wage or temporary positions making it difficult to provide for their family and climb the socioeconomic ladder. New Women New Yorkers has been serving immigrant women since 2015. We provide workforce development and other programs to empower immigrant women to secure their first paying, meaningful job in the NYC workforce or pursue higher education. We create a better, more equal, and more prosperous United States when we include immigrant women in the workforce. Our core values: Inclusion & diversity: New Women New Yorkers believes in the vast potential that every immigrant woman coming to New York has to contribute to our city, regardless of her national origin, cultural background, or educational level. Equality of opportunities: We endeavor to level the playing field so that gender, country of origin, ethnicity, family background, and other characteristics that are beyond an individual’s control do not impact a person’s outcomes. Freedom to choose professional path: We strive to offer our participants with the resources and support they need in order to pursue their chosen professional path.

Tip Tuesday: Master Professional Emails ?? Effective written communication is key to landing job opportunities. Here’s a quick tip for writing strong professional emails: Keep it clear and concise - Begin with a polite greeting, clearly state your purpose in the first line, and always end with a specific call to action. Keep your sentences short and easy to understand—especially if you’re emailing busy recruiters or employers. For example: “Dear [Name], I am reaching out regarding [specific opportunity]. Please let me know if there is a convenient time for a follow-up. Thank you for your time.” Polished emails show professionalism and respect for the reader’s time. #TipTuesday #ProfessionalCommunication #JobSearchTips #CareerSuccess #ImmigrantWomen #Empowerment #NYCWorkforce

Through NWNY, she found a community that embraced her and empowered her to give back. ?? Watch the video to discover Sara’s inspiring journey. As we celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving, we invite you to join us in empowering more women like Sara. Together, we can create opportunities, build connections, and make a lasting impact. ?? New Women New Yorkers has proudly been a part since 2022 of the Queens and Staten Island Clean Energy Regional Hub, an initiative funded by NYSERDA. In our role in the Hub, we have been supporting immigrant women and Queens residents to join the ever-growing clean energy workforce, and to pursue clean energy upgrades in their homes. In collaboration with the Pratt Center for Community Development, in order to guide our work, we’ve developed a Regional Assessment and Barriers Analysis (RABA) to identify gaps and barriers in clean energy outreach, and where there are opportunities to improve. We’re happy to share this final assessment with you for transparency on our efforts: https://shorturl.at/gNVIy If you’re looking to learn more about how to join the clean energy workforce or you’re interested in getting assistance with clean energy or energy efficiency in your home, please fill out this form and our Hub Energy Advisor will contact you to set an appointment: https://lnkd.in/gpzdWcf7 #cleanenergy #needsassessment #queens #raba #nyserda

Tip Tuesday: Make Your Resume Shine! ? Your resume is the first impression employers get of you, so make it count! Here’s a quick tip to help you stand out: Use action verbs - Start each bullet point with a strong action verb like “coordinated,” “implemented,” or “led” to clearly show your skills and achievements. Focus on quantifiable accomplishments—for example: “Increased efficiency by 20% by optimizing daily workflow.” Show what you achieved, not just what you did! #TipTuesday #JobSearchTips #ResumeWriting #Empowerment #ImmigrantWomen #CareerSuccess #NYCWorkforce
