What to know if you plan on attending in person. The New Mexico Legislature’s 2025 session ends starts at noon Tuesday and ends at noon March 22 at the state Capitol, 490 Old Santa Fe Trail. Day 1 lineup: About an hour or two after the session starts Tuesday, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will give her State of the State address, outlining her administration’s accomplishments and laying out her plans and priorities. Senate Republican leaders will weigh in with a response about 30 minutes after the State of the State concludes. Where to park: Spots are usually available in a free parking garage just behind the state Capitol; the entrance is off Galisteo Street. Where to eat: What the Truck catering service runs The Capitol Cafe on weekdays on the west side of the Capitol on the ground-floor level. Accessibility: The Capitol offers several features to accommodate people with disabilities, including large-screen monitors with closed captioning. There are elevators on the east and west sides of the building. Leave it at home: Service dogs are allowed; all other dogs, firearms and other types of weapons are prohibited. Visitors must go through a security checkpoint at the east and west entrances. Food and beverages are prohibited for attendees in galleries and committee rooms. Bills, agendas and webcasts: Visit nmlegis.gov and click on the “Legislation” link for bills, resolutions and other measures. Click on the “What’s happening” link for daily schedules. Tune in from home by clicking on the “Webcast” link, where you’ll find livestreams and recordings of hearings.

The New Mexico House of Representatives would like to express our sincerest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues of former Representative Eliseo Lee Alcon who served in the NM House of Representatievs from 2009 - 2024, and and the communities he served so faithfully Representative Alcon served our state with honor, distinction, and longstanding dedication to his constituents in western New Mexico. From his heroic service as a combat medic in Vietnam, where he earned the Bronze Star, to his 16 years of dedicated public service in the legislature, Representative Alcon exemplified public service. As chairman of the Consumer and Public Affairs Committee and the Labor, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, he helped improve the lives of veterans, workers, and families across New Mexico.
