From learning to leading! ? Last week, we had the privilege of hosting a special professional development session at the Museum, where dedicated teachers gathered to learn how to incorporate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) practices into their classrooms. Led by art therapist Bernice Badillo, Ph.D., LMFT, ATR-BC (she/her), they dove into creative techniques to foster emotional resilience, empathy, and strong connections through art. ?? This session is part of an ongoing collaboration between The New Children's Museum, the San Diego Unified School District’s Visual & Performing Arts Department and a team of passionate educators from Title 1 schools. Together, we’re equipping teachers with valuable tools to help their students thrive emotionally and socially. This quarterly program invites kids and families to the Museum on selected Saturdays for a quieter experience, before the Museum opens to the general public.
