Last week, our Communications department had some fun with 0.5 photos during their potluck to celebrate the fall season and bond as a team. Some brought homemade dishes from family recipes, while others brought in food from their favorite restaurants and bakeries. Overall, it was a cheerful gathering that will certainly usher in a new tradition for the department! #WeAreNew42 #StaffFun #TeamBonding #Potluck

Today we officially launch the New Victory Arts Education Resource Library! Developed with funding provided through Bloomberg Philanthropies' Digital Accelerator Program, the free digital library offers Pre-K-12 educators a comprehensive, user-friendly collection of performing arts-based materials designed to bring creativity and imagination into the classroom. Over a hundred arts education materials and tools are widely available for the first time. The library provides educators across the nation and beyond with ready-to-use performing arts activities, handouts, resource guides, and dynamic instructional videos that align with National Arts Standards. “We hear firsthand the impact our resources have from teachers who have been using them right here in our City, and this partnership has allowed us to listen to their needs to make these tools stronger, easier to use, and to expand free access to all teachers across the country,” said Courtney J. Boddie, Vice President, Education & School Engagement. Check out everything the digital library has to offer here: https://bit.ly/4fXHCSU

Today, we're thinking about Tom Slaughter, who worked closely with us for ten years as our resident visual artist and dear friend of the organization. Tom passed ten years ago today, and we miss his incredible talent and friendship every day. "Everyday objects make me think of Tom. He was able to take the simplest forms and create the most iconic art. He was a brilliant NYC-based artist and I count myself lucky I got to work with him for 6 years. The New Victory style was created out of his extraordinary eye for color, shape and whimsy. Ten years has passed in the blink of an eye, but I think about him often with the fondest memories." - Alexis Buatti-Ramos, Assistant Director, Art & Design
