History is still being made at the Navy Yard! Yesterday, we hit an important milestone with the christening of the Patriot State, the second of four training ships for the US Navy built in Philadelphia at the Philly Shipyard, Inc. ?? Thank you to all of our guests, especially the Office of the Secretary of the Navy, Representative Mary Gay Scanlon, and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, who spoke with CBS Philadelphia about Philadelphia’s shipbuilding legacy and what this ship means for our nation–and for the hundreds of workers at the Navy Yard who made it a reality. The Center City shuttle service will be discontinued Tuesday afternoon (9/10), due to security measures enacted by Secret Service, the Philadelphia Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies that will disrupt vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area. NRG Station Loop will still be in operation.
