Earth’s oceans cover 70% of the planet and are home to incredible biodiversity. In celebration of the “Love For Our Oceans" initiative, Tiffany & Co. is committing USD 1M to The Nature Conservancy to help conserve oceans around the world for all those who rely on them. For each T Smile by Tiffany cord bracelet sold in participating locations, either USD 100 or 200, depending on the piece selected, will be given to TNC to support its ocean conservation efforts and goal of conserving 4 billion hectares of ocean by 2030. 关于我们
The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. We're proud of what we've accomplished since our founding in 1951: The Nature Conservancy has protected more than 117 million acres of land and 5,000 miles of rivers worldwide — and we operate more than 100 marine conservation projects globally. We have more than 1 million members and work in 81 countries and territories, using a collaborative approach that engages local communities, governments, the private sector, and other partners. Guided by science, we create innovative, on-the-ground solutions to our world's toughest challenges so that nature and people can thrive together. We are tackling climate change, conserving lands, waters and oceans at an unprecedented scale, providing food and water sustainably and helping make cities more sustainable. ?? Biodiversity. The rich fabric woven by millions of species and their interactions. Food, air, climate, economies and civilization itself depend on it. You can think of biodiversity as the secret sauce behind all healthy ecosystems, keeping them balanced and resilient. In turn, healthy habitats make our lives livable. ??Forests filter water through their roots and oysters clean water with their gills. ?? Coral reefs and coastal ecosystems absorb the force of storm surges and waves, protecting coastal communities. ?? Tropical rainforests, wetlands and mangroves are some of the natural ecosystems that soak up a third of the world’s climate-changing emissions every year. Protecting biodiversity means protecting ourselves, as we are connected to everything living or that has ever lived on this planet. Join us in celebrating and safeguarding the incredible variety of life on Earth. Curious about how you can help? Click here: https://nature.ly/3XZKVSb

?? With renewable energy capacity needing to triple by 2030 to keep global temperature increases below 1.5°C, the development of large infrastructure, such as wind farms, solar power plants and grid networks, both on land and in the ocean, will be crucial. ?? Increasingly, these will intersect with local people, wildlife, and natural ecological systems. Responsibly managing the impact of this significant infrastructure growth will be central to ensuring a rapid, sustainable, and equitable energy transition for all. ?? We are delighted to join the Responsible Renewables Infrastructure Coalition, convened by the World Economic Forum to promote equitable outcomes and protect biodiversity through actions such as community engagement, benefit sharing, job creation, and conservation of key species and ecosystems while accelerating the deployment of renewable energy infrastructure worldwide. #3xrenewables #smartsiting

“Partnerships between the federal government and state, local and tribal governments are essential because that’s how we can test new climate solutions that can then be scaled or adopted by others." TNC Global Board Chair Bill Frist, M.D.’s recent Forbes column discussed how federal policies, such as the Inflation Reduction Act are helping states tackle climate change, reduce emissions and fund other state-based solutions.
