Reflecting on an unforgettable night at the 36th Annual Wammie Music Awards with my good friend and ΚΚΨ Brother, Rassii Elliott! As a first-time attendee, stepping into a room filled with such incredible talent was a true privilege. The energy, passion, and creativity of everyone there were palpable, reminding me why music is such a powerful force in our lives. Being able to represent The MusicianShip as one of the Board of Directors in attendance added another layer of meaning to the evening. Seeing the impact of our staff’s and Board’s work firsthand, supporting and empowering musicians and artists, was incredibly rewarding. With that said, happy to share that we were able to RAISED NEARLY $30K tonight!! Congratulations to all of the award winners, nominees, and honorees!! The camaraderie among fellow musicians and industry professionals was inspiring and reminded me of the strength and unity within the music community. The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities along with Government Partners and Community Partners have launched the DC Area Music Census. The DC Area Music Census is a community-led initiative to gain a better understanding of the current needs of the DMV music community.
