关于我们
We are a volunteer run and volunteer funded 501(c)3 organization based in Western Washington. Our beautiful 5 acre farm is open to care for animals and humans alike who need respite, recovery and reconnecting. The animals in our care come to us from our wonderful network of rescue partners, and we are honored to provide our permanent residents with the food, shelter, love, compassion and medical care they need for the rest of their lives with us.

?? Heavy Use Area Refresh! 12 Tons of Gravel Later… ?? Twice a year, we tackle a big job to keep our sanctuary safe and sustainable—refreshing the heavy use area with fresh gravel! This critical space helps keep our barn herd out of the mud and ensures the ground stays in good condition year-round. Today, we brought in 12 tons of gravel and a rented tractor to get the job done! While Swoosh, Cupid, and Manny weren’t exactly thrilled about being evicted from the barn for the day, they were very excited to explore their newly refreshed space. A HUGE shoutout to Connor, an amazing volunteer from our local high school, who spent the afternoon raking through all that gravel. With Jen still recovering from shoulder and back pain, having someone so dedicated made all the difference. ?? Want to volunteer at Muddy Pug? We’d love your help! Whether it’s: ?? Caretaking & tuck-in shifts ?? Helping out on Sanctuary Saturdays (limited spots) ?? Assisting with admin tasks Every set of hands makes a difference for our residents! DM us or visit MuddyPugFarm.org to get involved. ??

As Easter approaches, it’s important to talk about a heartbreaking yet common cycle - one that the “Savage Buns” know all too well. Right now, many in our community who fancy themselves “farmers” are breeding rabbits en masse to sell as Easter gifts. What most people don’t realize is that bunnies are highly specialized pets - fragile, complex, and requiring specialized vet care to live long, happy lives. Mary, Clavi, Faith, Ghost, and Dewdrop ?? came to us through our friends at The Old Goats Home, after escaping a backyard breeding situation where they were left without consistent shelter or care. These five were the lucky ones. They wandered onto the sanctuary next door and were rescued before making their way to The Muddy Pug over two years ago. But these girls came with a twist…they do not get along with ANY other rabbits. Their arrival is actually why we had to create separate Rabbitats! And, true to their name, they destroy just about anything that enters their space (so, “Savage Buns” they remain). Today, they live safely with us alongside 9 other rabbits, all of whom came from neglectful or heartbreaking circumstances. Here, they have found love, companionship, and happiness—and it’s because of support from people like you. ?? This is why we sanctuary. ?? For as little as $5/month, you can sponsor one of these sweet souls and help us continue this work. ?? To support The Muddy Pug: ?? Visit muddypugfarm.org and click “Donate” ?? Venmo @MuddyPugFarm Every dollar makes a difference. Thank you for believing in rescue, sanctuary, and giving these bunnies the love they deserve. #bunnies #RescueRabbits #AdoptDontShop #SavageBuns #EasterBunniesAreForLife

Goldie’s Road to Recovery! Dr. Jason stopped by yesterday to check on Goldie, he removed her old cast, took some new X-rays, and got her fitted with a fresh one. The good news? Her healing is progressing! She also had her stitches removed and started another round of antibiotics to prevent infection. We’re keeping a close eye on her to ensure her knee continues to fuse properly, so she can use her front leg for leverage as she moves around. Through it all, Goldie’s in good spirits—eating, drinking, and staying her sweet self. One of the most heartwarming moments was seeing members of the barn herd check in on her during her procedure. Mario and Austin even sat by the gate next to her while she was sedated, showing just how strong their bonds are. We can’t wait for Goldie to rejoin the herd, but in the meantime, we’re still raising funds to cover the remaining balance of her surgery. As a registered 501(c)(3), all donations are tax-deductible. If you’d like to contribute, we’d be so grateful. To donate, please head to our website www.muddypugfarm.org or you can venmo us! Thank you for your support in helping Goldie heal! With so much love from The Muddy Pug

Did you know? Most farm sanctuaries are founded and run by women, and the majority of volunteers and staff dedicating their time to this work are women, too! This International Women’s Day, we want to send so much love to the incredible women who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make rescue and sanctuary life possible. From early morning feedings to emergency vet runs, from heavy lifting to gentle care, their dedication saves lives every single day. A special shoutout to our founder, Jennifer and our amazing Sanctuary Coordinator, Amber, for their unwavering commitment to our residents. The work is tough, the days are long, but the impact is immeasurable. Tag a woman you admire in animal rescue or sanctuary work! Let’s celebrate them today and every day. #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInRescue #FarmSanctuary #TheMuddyPug #AnimalRescue #womenwholead

We have had a busy week between helping Goldie’s recovery along (she’s doing great!), moving hay, and using the break from the rain to do some deeper cleaning and organizing. Cupid was so tuckered out, he fell asleep right in front of us. Moments of safety, peace and love….thinks why we sanctuary. Your support makes our work possible. To sponsor amazing souls like Cupid, you can head to our website at Muddypugfarm.org or Venmo to muddypugfarm. With so much love from The Muddy Pug.

Today, Goldie got to feel the sunshine on her face again. After weeks of recovery, I let her out for a closely monitored sunbathing session, and it was everything. She took slow, careful steps, breathing in the fresh air, and then something truly special happened. Sweet Nick walked right up to her, nuzzling her as if to say, “We’ve missed you, friend.” This is why we do what we do. Sanctuary isn’t just about rescuing animals. It’s about giving them back the life they were meant to have, the friendships, the safety, the joy. Goldie’s journey isn’t over yet. We are still fundraising to cover the cost of her surgery, and every donation makes a difference. If you’d like to support her recovery and the work we do at The Muddy Pug, you can donate at muddypugfarm.org or via Venmo at @muddypugfarm. From Goldie, Nick, and all of us at The Muddy Pug—thank you for believing in this work.
