We’ve been nominated for a Webby Award! ?? We’re so excited to share that we’ve been nominated in the Travel & Lifestyle video category at this year’s The Webby Awards. Our nominated video, One Man’s Trash, is all about how you can buy a stranger’s lost luggage at a huge store in Alabama called Unclaimed Baggage. ?? The shop was set up in 1970 by the Owens family, and has remained a family-owned business ever since. In their shop you can find the most unique items and it’s a museum for those unusual and priceless items that never made their way back to their owners. The Webbys are the leading international awards honoring excellence on the internet. Established in 1996 during the Web’s infancy, The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS)—a 3000+ member judging body. Nearly 13,000 entries were received from 70 countries around the world this year! ?? This is our first award nomination since we were acquired by whynow in 2023. Our short film, Hollywood's Horror Chef, also received a Webby Honoree in the awards, something that is granted to only the top 25% of all work entered in the 28th Annual Webby Awards. The votes are open until 18th April. Watch the story and cast your vote now: https://wbby.co/40211N Thank you for your support! ??

The Compass Society maps the future of our region through generosity. The first-ever "Compass in Action" tour allowed donors and community leaders to view the impact of recent Compass Society grants in Jackson County. The tour included a discussion on regionalism by Dennis Madsen, a hands-on STEM activity at the Ben Sanford Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama in Scottsboro led by HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology to demonstrate the Genetic Explorers program, and a private meeting with Scottsboro Mayor Jim McCamy followed by a tour of Scottsboro Boys Museum. #HereForGood
