Transdisciplinary Team: expert assessment & treatment of Neurodevelopmental Disorders & Learning Difficulties, all ages.
关于我们
Founded by Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician Dr. Ann Alexander, and currently owned and operated by Dr. Tim Conway, The Morris Center has over 27 years of experience – including helping conduct and publish NIH funded research proving the efficacy of portions of The Morris Center’s treatment program. The Morris Center’s research and clinical data repeatedly support the success of the intensive, transdisciplinary treatment model. Equally important, the treatment outcomes are robust and typically long-term with little to no long-term follow-up required. The Morris Center is an all-inclusive neurodevelopmental treatment and assessment center. We help improve skills of children and adults who have difficulty with school or job success, e.g. poor reading, spelling, comprehension, writing, speech, math, sensory processing attention, behavior or social skills. Uniquely, The Morris Center uses a transdisciplinary team of caring professionals, individually tailored assessment and treatment, and a scientifically proven treatment program. This program makes long-term improvements of weak skills that may cause academic or job difficulties. The Morris Center’s cutting-edge assessment model is transdisciplinary, client specific and aims to guide treatment planning. Our transdisciplinary assessment and treatment team includes professionals in child psychiatry, clinical psychology, neuropsychology, nurse practitioner, occupational therapy, special education, and speech-language pathology. These professionals design the assessment to identify an individual’s specific profile of strengths and weaknesses. Identifying clients’ strengths and weaknesses can uncover likely causes of their learning difficulties, poor academic performance or limited job success. Similarly, this profile guides The Morris Center’s selected treatment program. The primary aim of the treatment program is to improve a client’s weaknesses and improve academic or work performance. Thus, treatment is tailored

Don't miss this special showing of Dr Conway's 2019 Pediatric Grand Rounds talk at the University of Alabama! 300+ Faculty at Univ of Alabama Birmingham discuss #DyslexiaScience with Dr. Tim Conway, a neuropsychologist trained in lifespan neuropsychology, neurorehabilitation (Phonological Alexia, Agraphia & Aphasia), neuroimaging (fMRI) and neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment of Severe Dyslexia among children, teenagers, young adults, adults and older adults. From Dr. Conway and his colleagues' 15 years of Randomized Controlled Trials on preventing Dyslexia's hallmark phonological awareness, reading accuracy, reading fluency and/or reading comprehension difficulties, as well as remediating these same deficits in elementary school children with Severe Dyslexia who are in Special Education, have Individualized Education Plans (IEP's) and are NOT making progress or "closing the gap" in their reading skills, despite years of Special Education services. From this expertise, gold standard Randomized Controlled Trials research (this is the caliber of science that guides your child's Pediatrician's decisions) and developmental science, the first in the USA charter school that is a FREE 501(c)3 nonprofit was opened in 1999 and provides a FREE remediation of Dyslexia and other learning disorders. https://lnkd.in/ere_bdH See the very end for 20 minutes of faculty's Q&A with Dr. Tim Conway. This week’s episode of Dyslexia Success Stories! features Scott Jones, a remarkable advocate and living proof that it’s never too late to empower Dyslexia, even as an adult over 50 years old. In this interactive and engaging conversation, Scott shares his own Dyslexia journey, starting with his struggles with Severe Dyslexia throughout childhood, into his adulthood and his decision at age 54 to take part in the evidence-based, Dyslexia empowerment course via the NOW! Programs? company. Due to his early challenges in literacy and language, Scott usually had to work around his Dyslexia. This meant less efficient, more draining and frustrating efforts to complete school tasks. Sure, Scott usually found work arounds; however, the extra efforts were exhausting & sometimes there was no workaround possible; he struggled a lot. Through perseverance, extra efforts and time, Scott still excelled in his professional career, becoming a top technical professional, earning accolades from his company’s executives, and even owning multiple patents. Yet, most of Scott’a colleagues & business associates had no idea how much he struggled to read and spell. Ironic, but not surprising, due to genetics, his daughters also had Dyslexia & learning challenges. So, when Scott’s wife heard about the NOW! Programs? company she scheduled a meeting between Dr Tim Conway, PhD & Scott to discuss taking their daughter Rory to The Morris Centre Trinidad and Tobago; Rory’s empowerment sparked more Arkansas students to receive NOW! Programs? too. After her Dyslexia empowerment, Rory finally could realize that her dad made many spelling errors when they texted, eg he spelled salad as “salid." You’ll hear Scott share how his skepticism turned into belief that “NOW! Programs? works!” After completing the NOW! Foundations? Dyslexia empowerment program, Scott experienced profound changes. What changed? Did Scott actually unlock / build new strengths that he integrated with his existing strengths? Did his improvements help him achieve more professional success? Were there any impacts on his family & personal life? Why did he choose a Dyslexia empowerment course & what happened after the NOW! Programs? course; built by brain scientists & peer-reviewed research (click on #DyslexiaScience or see Dr Conway’s TED talk: https://lnkd.in/eaug4b9 Stories like Scott’s bring hope and inspiration to anyone looking to move beyond accommodations or being tethered to technology workarounds and instead embrace Dyslexia empowerment, creating new competitive edges, and building a higher quality of life, at any age & doing it NOW! Why listen to Dyslexia Success Stories! podcast? This is the only podcast that scientifically challenges the outdated & inaccurate view that poor reading & spelling skills in Dyslexia are “life long” and “cannot be changed.” Join us at noon, Eastern, Nov 22nd and ask Scott your questions during our live, interactive discussion.

In this episode of Dyslexia Discussions & More, Dr. Tim Conway and Stephen Yearout will clarify the terminology often used in discussions about dyslexia. They’ll break down the technical jargon, identify which terms are grounded in research and science, and expose commonly used terms that may lead to misunderstanding or confusion more than clarity of what’s going on and what can be done to empower this child, teenager, college student, adult or even an older adult who struggles with dyexia. This episode will help parents, educators, clinicians and even those with dyslexia to better understand what each term means. Knowing how these terms impact options or choices about the literacy struggles of those dyslexia are equally important to understand. Lastly, this episode will explain why accurate knowledge of these terms matters & how better knowledge gives better guidance on how to empower each person’s skills, abilities and ultimately give them more control for pursuing their own goals and dreams that they want to pursue, not just ones they think they can pursue while working around their dyslexia struggles. With a doctorate in education, Dr. BethAnn Pratte had extensively studied the educational literature on learning difficulties. She had a personal interest in these topics as well, since her son, Brady, had experienced learning difficulties most of his life. Serving as a private educational consultant providing educational assessments for her own clients, Dr. Pratte had a deep understanding of assessing learning difficulties, as well as searching for academic resources for remediation or accommodations. Searching for remedial services for our clients two children, Dr. Pratt unexpectedly found The Morris Centre Trinidad and Tobago clinic. Surprisingly, in 2019 Dr. Pratte chose to join her client on the journey to the Caribbean. These two moms had decided their children would attend The Morris Centre Trinidad and Tobago. All three children would enroll in the same intensive transdisciplinary team services at this specialty clinic to empower their sensory, motor, learning, language, literacy, and mathematics skills. Join us this Friday, November 8th at Noon Eastern time, for a remarkable podcast as we learn about this adventurous journey, Dr. Pratte and her son made all the way to the Caribbean to receive evidence-based, empowering services. How much improvement could really happen? Was this courageous journey really worth the time, effort and expense? Is this another example of a powerful success story for a mother and her child, who had multiple learning challenges? What more could this mother, with a doctorate in education and a private educational consulting practice, learn from a neuropsychologist with peer-reviewed research, randomized controlled trials funded by NICHD and decades of experience empowering children? What happened over the last 5 years, AFTER Dr Pratte’s son completed several months of intensive training at The Morris Centre Trinidad and Tobago? This week’s podcast covers a fantastic journey, exploration of science, unexpected professional development and personal triumphs for a young boy and his mom.
