The Missouri Physicians Health Program

The Missouri State Medical Association, recognizing the need for assisting the impaired physician, established the Missouri Physicians Health Program in 1985. This program was designed to treat the problem of impairment with compassion and understanding. The purpose of the program is to facilitate the physician’s return to a healthy personal and professional life through early intervention, treatment referral, monitoring, and advocacy.
