During our Beats 'N Eats Fundraiser, one United States Marine Corps received the surprise of a lifetime. Veteran Terry Herrera of Kansas City, MO served as a 0451 Parachute Rigger on Camp Pendleton, CA for 4 years. Post-service and culinary school he worked in a few restaurants, but never felt he could pursue his dream of owning his own business until learning about Let's Chow. Terry been working with the Let's Chow program for the last 7 months developing his street taco concept, Taco Fuego KC. During this time, he operated under our “Kitchen with a Mission” initiative where we fund and help veteran entrepreneurs hone their menus by donating meals to the local community. Terry donated over 2,000 tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and other menu items to those in need in the Kansas City area. Fast forward to early November, Terry thought he was coming to help out with event preparations for the the Beats 'N Eats event, but instead Robert Irvine brought him up on stage to tell him in front of the whole crowd that he would soon be able to operate Taco Fuego out of a Let's Chow Food Truck in Kansas City. Terry's diligence, dedication, and talents were why we selected him to operate the next Let’s Chow food truck. Terry served his country as a Marine, served thousands of meals to his community through the Kitchen with a Mission program, and now, Terry will be serving the best tacos in the Midwest in a brand new Let’s Chow food truck provided by the Robert Irvine Foundation.

A sweet moment on the field during the Salute to Service night at the Philadelphia Eagles game where the RIF team was joined by the family of one of our iBot recipients and RIF Ambassadors, Marine Corps veteran Chris Kaag. Chris' wife Gretchen and son Carter attended on his behalf. During an on-field ceremony, Chris was recognized for the work he does with his own foundation, the IM ABLE Foundation which helps individuals living with disabilities to lead an active and empowered life through inclusive fitness. During the game, the Robert Irvine Foundation presented Chris’ son Carter with a scholarship toward his college education. An impactful moment for this deserving military family. Keep up the good work, Chris!

Thank you for your service Matthew and for the efforts Next 18 is leading! It was a fun morning celebrating and honoring the military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Thank you THE PLAYERS Championship for coordinating the float/parade and for your leadership here locally in NE Florida. Special shoutout to Marjorie Dennis for the coordination and to David Holland for his leadership, leading our veterans employee resource group.

Veterans Day this year was spent in Jacksonville, FL with the THE PLAYERS Championship and the PGA TOUR. Next 18 is a Birdies for the Brave member and I was honored to represent the organization alongside people that are quickly becoming friends. I am thankful for the continued support that the Tour has shown this past year as this relationship develops. I can not thank Calin Skudlarek, David Holland, Emily Bellock, Emily Furderer, Marjorie Dennis, and Cheryl Peters enough!!! I also was able to connect with a few alum who are local to JAX and one of them received a brand new set of Cobra golf clubs, which was provided by the Tour and PGA TOUR Superstore. These small lifts from the Tour perspective have such a large impact on the individual that receives them. Next 18 looks forward to being down in Ponte Vedra, FL in 3 weeks as we host our 8th camp of 2024 and our final camp for the season.

A surreal moment yesterday as First Lady Dr. Jill Biden recognized Chef Irvine for his dedication to bringing military families comfort through food during a White House reception celebrating the culinary arts in diplomacy. Robert Irvine your commitment and dedication to our nation’s heroes is so admirable, and we are proud to have your leadership for the Robert Irvine Foundation.

As the President of the Robert Irvine Foundation, today holds profound significance for me—not just as a leader of a veteran service organization, but as a proud member of a family with a rich history of military service. My grandfather, uncles, and father have all served, instilling in me a deep respect for the sacrifices made by our veterans. Over the past 15 years, I have had the privilege of meeting countless veterans whose stories of courage, resilience, and dedication inspire me daily. I am especially grateful for the veterans who serve as our staff, board members, ambassadors, and advisory council members. Their commitment and insights enhance our mission and motivate me to strive for excellence. Today, we pause to honor all veterans—not only for their service but for the values they embody and the strength they bring to our communities. While Veterans Day is a special occasion for recognition, let us remember that our support and gratitude should extend far beyond today. Together, we can ensure that our veterans receive the respect, resources, and recognition they deserve every day of the year. To all veterans, thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Your bravery and commitment continue to inspire us all. #VeteransDay #RobertIrvineFoundation #ThankYouVeterans #HonorAndRespect Robert Irvine Scott Sonnemaker Ramón “CZ” Colón-López JoAnne (Jo) Bass John F. So thankful for this relationship. It has saved our lives at Next 18. Having a system that verifies all of our applicants allows us a level of comfort we did not have before. ????
On Veterans Day, Americans everywhere honor the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed to protect our way of life. Veterans Day carries special weight at ID.me, a Veteran-founded, Veteran-operated company with deep roots in service to our military members. Today, Christopher Mills, a U.S. Air Force Veteran and ID.me's Chief Revenue Officer, shares his perspective on Veterans' place at the heart of our work. He also highlights some of the ways the ID.me wallet serves the military community, from helping millions of veterans securely access the benefits they've earned, to connecting military members with hundreds of exclusive brand offers. "I was drawn to serve my country through this ethos of sacrifice shown to me by my community," Chris writes. "Joining ID.me last year as a U.S. Air Force Veteran, I was proud to step into a company deeply rooted in those same beliefs." ?? Read Chris' perspective here: https://lnkd.in/euA-ErKu ?? Over half of those who die by suicide do not have a known mental illness. We are fighting to reach more veterans every single day. Thanks to a recent grant from Face The Fight, the Robert Irvine Foundation will now be able to expand our programming to include evidence-based suicide prevention strategies.
