This incredible program selects a small cohort of impact-driven entrepreneurs and provides them with individualized business mentoring, executive coaching, customized training, and invaluable resources—all at no cost. Over the next 12 weeks, we’ll have the opportunity to focus on setting, achieving, and celebrating key milestones critical to our growth. We’re honored to join a community of changemakers, including 295 graduates who have collectively raised over $822 million in capital. With 54% women, 72% underrepresented and under-resourced founders, and 40% international founders, the Milestone Makers program is paving the way for more equitable and inclusive entrepreneurship. As we approach the close of 2024, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement to share that I’ve been featured in Shoutout Miami! A few months ago, I had the honor of being featured, and recently, a few of the writers reached out to me about being highlighted once more. The little girl in me couldn’t help but feel ecstatic and deeply honored to be asked again. And so, here we are—celebrating this incredible moment together! This year has been one of growth, challenge, and learning. Entrepreneurship has truly been a journey of discovering more about myself, working closely with an incredible team, and navigating many lessons learned from mistakes, missteps, and moments of hesitation. From moving too quickly to not moving quickly enough, it’s been a process of constant iteration and evolution, both professionally and personally. One thing I’ve learned for sure is that growth takes time, patience, and resilience. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Over the past 11 months, I’ve gained several valuable lessons : -Lean into the NOs. Embrace the disappointment, learn from it, and then move on. -Make sure those around you are recognized and appreciated. Gratitude breeds more gratitude, and it opens doors to more opportunities. -Stay curious. Never stop learning and seeking new perspectives. -Trust your intuition. It’s there for a reason, and the more we listen to it, the more aligned we become with our purpose. -There’s no such thing as failure, only lessons that help us grow. -What’s meant for you will find its way. If it hasn’t arrived yet, it’s because you’re either not ready or it’s not yours. Stay focused on the present while planning for the future. And above all, thank you, God, for everything. I’m deeply thankful to my family—both chosen and biological, my incredible partner in commission, Nikki Carney, and to so many wonderful individuals who have supported and encouraged us along the way. To the families, partners, and community that continue to stand by us—thank you, thank you, thank you! As we look to 2025, I’m excited for the future and all that’s ahead. Netflix is funding a yearlong fellowship for writers and filmmakers with disabilities to help launch their work in the entertainment industry. Each awardee will receive $55,000 to make their short with an experienced crew and support themselves as part of the Visionary Fellowship. In addition, the program will provide access to health insurance, marketing support and money for travel and access needs. This is the largest investment of any studio to try to include perspectives from people with disabilities. Netflix will fund the effort through its Fund for Creative Equity, the program will be run by the Inevitable Foundation, a nonprofit that invests in writers and filmmakers with disabilities. Not a huge amount of $ or time, but a great start, I hope it will lead to many more opportunities for artists in these communities.
