关于我们
Beyond the walls that display the art, that separate the collections, that house the lights and descriptions. Beyond the walls between the artist’s intentions and the visitor’s interpretations, between what you see and how you feel, between what was shared and what you’ll share with others. Beyond the walls you’ll find The Mint Museum. An internationally-renowned institution, The Mint Museum is dedicated to collecting, conserving, exhibiting, inspiring, publishing and protecting important works of art and design from all over the global art community. Our commitment to integrity, leadership and innovation intends to encourage not only the understanding of diverse peoples and cultures, but respect for the impact and influence they’ve had on each and every one of us. Through our two locations, Mint Museum Uptown and Mint Museum Randolph, we hope to stimulate the senses, ignite inner passion and compel our visitors to share the things that inspire them with the world. Just as our artists do.

?? What an amazing Staff Wellness Day! For World Mental Health Day last month, we embraced wellness and gratitude with activities like building Zen gardens, coloring pages inspired by our collection, and sharing self-care skills. A food truck serving delicious acai bowls and smoothies was the cherry on top! Thank you to everyone who participated! It was a wonderful opportunity to relax, connect, and focus on our well-being. ?? Shout out to our stellar team members for a wonderful afternoon: Ebony House-Bradshaw, Justin Williams, Hailey Black #StaffWellnessDay #MentalHealthMatters #CommunityWellness

Incredible work by our incredible team member, Margaret Mauldin!
Do you like modern art? Do you like the South? Lemme interest you in Southern/Modern at The Mint Museum !! I created the Close Looking Guide for the exhibit and I am BEYOND proud of how it turned out. This exhibition is full of experimental works that reflect the great changes Southern culture, society, and economics during the first half of the last century. It’s so rad!

Session proposals are OPEN for the 2025 North Carolina Museums Council Annual Meeting & Conference in Raleigh! 2025's theme, MUSEUMS UNWALLED, highlights the importance of museums as dynamic entities that engage with communities, foster education, drive cultural change and often go beyond the building itself. By focusing on areas such as community engagement, digital and virtual presence, interdisciplinary collaborations, sustainability, accessibility, and cultural diversity, we aim to provide a comprehensive and enriching experience for all attendees. The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 11, 2024. Selected proposals for the final program will be notified in December. Learn more and submit: https://lnkd.in/eKdzaYUa

Last month, my colleague Jamila Brown and I led two sessions at the Arts Integration Symposium at The Music Center in Los Angeles. We encouraged teachers of all disciplines to use art investigation to reinforce big ideas and build empathy in the classroom. It was an absolute HONOR to share works from The Mint Museum's collection, ideas, resources, and stories with some amazing LA teachers.

THIS IS WHY I DO WHAT I DO! Having a big-kid desk job is nice and all, but getting into the galleries and facilitating arts investigation is the best part. Watching visitors' minds work and communicate ideas is exciting stuff, no matter the age group. The "ah-ha!" moments make it all worth it.
