Meantime at the Junction is officially open to the public! Visit our second location at Innovate Carolina Junction, located at 136 E. Rosemary St., Monday-Thursday 8AM-4PM and Friday 8AM-3PM!
After months of hard work, it was gratifying to welcome community members into our new sit-down café during our Nov. 8th grand opening event. We were so grateful to serve over 600 community members in five hours, with a continuous line out the door during our whole event.
Meantime at the Junction is an entirely student-run, nonprofit venture dedicated to creating a positive impact on the Carolina community. Located in Innovate Carolina Junction, a coworking space focused on bridging Chapel Hill’s communities, the missions of Meantime and the Junction align seamlessly in their commitment to fostering connection, creativity, and community impact. Both organizations look forward to a lasting partnership that will continue to strengthen these values and serve the community for years to come.
As its name suggests, The Meantime Coffee Co. was founded to support student-driven innovation during their undergraduate years. Success has never been measured in sales or profits but rather in the positive impact on the community and the dedication to innovation. The top-to-bottom student staff work tirelessly to improve the business and expand its direct fiscal contributions to community initiatives.
Expanding Meantime to an additional location aims to offer Carolina students valuable professional development opportunities, living-wage certified employment, and a uniquely empowering community, continuing Meantime's legacy of serving much more than coffee.
Meantime at the Junction would not have been possible without the generous support and warm welcome from the team at Innovate Carolina Junction, including Sheryl W. and Julia Lutz. Meantime’s CEO, Noreen Mansoor, entrusted senior Rose Houck with the management of this project. The dedication and support of this year’s entire Meantime executive team made this expansion a reality: Kyle Daniels, John Stoehr, Jack Wilson, Parima Shelat, John Swinea, and Hannah Hankins. Additional thanks to the entire Meantime team, our community partners, and all of our supporters!
