This Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting the women who have helped shape MCS into the company it is today. This week, we’re highlighting Gerri Finnegan, whose leadership and dedication have been instrumental in our growth over the past 45 years. For Gerri, leadership is about more than just managing a team, it’s about building a group of skilled individuals who care about the company’s mission, respect one another, and understand the impact of their work. She believes true leadership comes with responsibility: guiding, delegating, providing the right tools, and making tough decisions when necessary. Her journey with MCS began when she made the leap from the Philadelphia court system to join a small start-up. Decades later, she saw that start up grow into the national service company it is today. A defining moment in her career came in 1993 when she transferred to Newark, NJ, to build a new team. The group she assembled became a tight-knit, dedicated unit with a shared belief: “It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us.” Her advice for women entering the industry? Show up, work hard, earn your place, and build strong relationships—they will give you the flexibility to grow in your career and life.
