???? Hi - we're The Marketing Meetup and this is the story of why we're here. In 2016 our founder was a lonely marketer who was terrified of networking events: the business cards. The sales pitches. The lack of any kind of 'realness' ?? And so he started an event in a canteen in Cambridge. A speaker to learn from. A buffet/pizza. A warm vibe, and the encouragement to look after each other a bit (we call that being 'positively lovely'). Today, TMM is way more than it was ever supposed to be. A community of tens of thousands strong running hundreds of events around the world for a group of genuinely lovely humans. It's been an unexpected, wonderful journey. A journey of community. Every week we run events from London to Toyko for our community of 46,000+ community, as well as online for anywhere between 500 and 3500 folks. Each event is an opportunity to socialise and learn from your fellow marketing professionals on a range of topics relevant to the field today in a friendly, happy, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Anyone welcome so long as you come to listen, share and learn, not sell and shout over one another :).

My mind has been blown and I think I need a walk around the block! ?? Just finished a brilliant webinar from The Marketing Meetup with Ashleigh Stearn, founder of Ash Stearn AI. If you're a marketer and not following this positively lovely community yet, you're missing out - they're a fantastic group. Thank you Penni Pickering for introducing me. The session was all about AI agents (the autonomous ones that perform tasks on your behalf), and Ash did a great job of getting down to the basics – I now know the difference between an agent, custom GPT and a boring old chat bot! ?? For us non-techies Relevance AI (a platform for building AI applications with vector search capabilities) seems to be the best learning platform, but even with this one it is clear that the learning curve is STEEP and I will need to have at least a basic knowledge of prompt engineering. (N8N is its big brother so there's no way I'll be going near that one for a while!) Ash also said you need to deliver multiple skills at once (that may definitely rule me out! ??) BUT it has created a huge amount of curiosity in me and I am super keen to start learning more. In Ash's own words, "it's not easy breezy", but the possibilities are mind-blowing. ? Anyone else been exploring AI agents in their work? Or are you still figuring out where to start? I'd love to hear what you're finding useful (or utterly confusing!) about this tech. ????
