The Lord's Ministry (La-Yahweh) is a Christian-based charity founded in 2023 by Prudence Ongachi and Patience Okaya, dedicated to spreading the gospel of Christ and uplifting vulnerable children. Our focus is on providing education, healthcare, advocacy, and spiritual guidance to children in need, serving with love, faith, and hope. Inspired by Hebrews 13:16, we emphasize doing good and sharing with others. Guided by Proverbs 31:8, we advocate for children who cannot speak for themselves, ensuring they receive proper care, education, and protection. Through our programs—including access to education, healthcare, food drives, child advocacy, and spreading the gospel—we work to create a brighter, Christ-centered future for children and their families. Our mission is to serve with compassion and faith, ensuring that every child feels valued, protected, and loved.

No Excuse for Child Neglect! I’ve been asking myself for some time now—how can a parent neglect their own child? How can someone who is supposed to love, protect, and nurture their child simply turn away? After much thought and observation, I found that there are several reasons why child neglect happens. Some parents face extreme financial hardship, struggling just to put food on the table or keep a roof over their heads. Others may be battling their own mental health issues, depression, or substance abuse, making it hard to care for anyone else, let alone a child. In some cases, domestic violence plays a role, where a parent is so caught up in their own suffering that they unintentionally neglect their child. There are also cultural and societal factors—where parents, overwhelmed by life’s pressures, believe that providing physical necessities is enough, without realizing that emotional support is equally important. Some may simply lack parenting skills, not knowing how to properly care for their children because they themselves were never taught. But none of these reasons, however real or challenging they may be, can ever justify neglecting a child. There is still no excuse for leaving a child without love, care, or basic necessities. Children are the most vulnerable members of our society, completely dependent on the adults around them. When they are neglected, they suffer in ways that can last a lifetime. We must remember: a child’s well-being is not just a parent’s responsibility—it’s a community’s duty. Whether through supporting struggling families, raising awareness, or advocating for children’s rights, we all have a role to play in ending child neglect.

Transitioning from a general charity to a dedicated focus on children, our new name, 'The Lord’s Ministry (La-Yahweh)', and refreshed logo reflect our commitment to this cause. This strategic shift, guided by our motto “Serving in love, faith, and hope,” aims to provide targeted support and advocacy for vulnerable children, ensuring they receive the essential resources and care they need to thrive.
