Some see a building. ?? We see comfort. ?? And while we hope you never need the medical spaces we have built, if you do, we hope your day is easier because we are here. “We really feel so happy, because it seems like when patients come here, they’re at ease.” - Lois Nicotra There are now Mount Sinai Health System, Northwell Health and Richmond University Medical Center medical treatments available on Staten Island at The Nicotra Group’s Corporate Commons Three, 1441 South Avenue, and along the Nicotras’ South Avenue “Medical Mile” that we all used to have to travel to Manhattan for…and that’s life changing. And if you or a loved one are on any weekly or monthly treatment or infusion plan, or regular checkup schedule, you know how travelling off Island means shaping your entire life around that drive, that visit, the parking, the expense and exhaustion - that’s all before you even reach the doctor’s office or infusion center. Taking a day off work. Taking your child out of school. Finding care for your other children and responsibilities as you devote 7 hours to making one hour of treatment happen. If you’ve lived it, you know that what I wrote above is just a small part of the pain of not having local access to high-quality healthcare in the hospital your physician practices from… This was the impetus for Lois and Richard Nicotra to build a beautiful building to attract world-class #physicians. Now, we can access #medical care and #treatments, just minutes away from our homes with free parking, an art-filled campus, a space in Pienza Brick Oven Pizza Café or the COMMONS café for your loved ones to have a cup of coffee or a bite while they wait. Those eateries are an amenity in addition to being socially responsible. ??In Manhattan, a one hour treatment devours a full day. ?On #StatenIsland, the treatment is a part of your day, and then you get back to your life. We hope you never need these spaces. But if you do, we hope your day is easier because we are here. ???? • The Nicotra Group’s Corporate Commons Three building was lit patriotically, and South Avenue was filled with heroes and those who support them, marking a truly red, white, and blue end to the day. Every day we enjoy our freedom is Veterans Day. ??????

To honor Stephen Siller’s ultimate sacrifice, along with the sacrifices of countless others, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation launched the 9/11 Memorial Golf Classic. This charitable golf series raises crucial funds for the Foundation’s programs supporting first responders and service members, locally and nationally, with events also held on Veterans Day. The Hilton Garden Inn (Staten Island) served as the gathering place in the evening, where heroes and those who support them came together in support of this important mission. Salvatore Cassano, former FDNY Commissioner, served as the MC, sharing the Foundation’s mission with those in attendance, while Frank Siller took the opportunity to highlight the national efforts on Fox News. Frank then arrived on Staten Island, where the mission began, to greet guests - he is everywhere if there is somewhere to greet supporters of T2T. In 2019, Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced the housing of 40,000 homeless veterans in converted hotels, offering job placement and counseling available around the clock. To date, 6,500 veterans, including 2,000 children, are under their care, with the goal of providing them with the support they need to reintegrate as productive members of society. Their mission also includes gifting mortgage-free smart homes to Gold Star Families. Tunnel to Towers also paid tribute to two honorees posthumously: ???NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller, who was tragically killed in the line of duty. Officer Diller, 31, was tragically killed in a shooting while conducting a traffic stop in Queens. He left behind his wife and 1-year-old son. Frank Siller, Chairman and CEO of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation shared at the time they paid off their mortgage, “We honor Officer Diller not only for his sacrifice but for his unwavering resolve to protect the people of New York City by ensuring his family can stay in their home, forever.” ???Rachel Volpe, RN a beloved community builder and healthcare advocate who passed away on October 30th was honored. She worked tirelessly for 12 years to promote heart health on Staten Island, teaching CPR to over 8,000 people and donating 250 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to nonprofits on Staten Island. Her leadership and vision led to a multi-year project driven by the NYC Council, resulting in the donation of over 1,500 AEDs and the training of over 10,000 individuals in CPR across the city’s five boroughs. Her friend Jean’s heartfelt Diet Coke toast to her friend and Salvatore Volpe MD FAAP FACP FHIMSS ABP-CI CHCQM’s tribute to his partner so soon after his great loss was reverent and brought Rachel’s spirit, smile and warmth into the room with us. ?????? A ribbon cutting ?? and radishes! Staten Island deserves state-of-the-art medical care, and we are proud to introduce Mount Sinai at Corporate Commons Three. This cutting-edge facility brings together a range of specialized services, including Cardiac Testing, Cardiology, Echocardiography, Endocrinology, Pulmonary, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, and Urology. Mount Sinai Doctors-1441 South Avenue, Multispecialty, offers both primary and specialty care, with expert physicians diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions. Also onsite is the Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center-Staten Island, providing hematology and oncology services, as well as an infusion center for chemotherapy and non-cancerous therapeutic infusion therapy. Borough President Vito Fossella Office of the Staten Island Borough President, The Nicotra Group owners Lois and Richard Nicotra, and the leadership of Mount Sinai Health System, Dr. Brendan, Kenneth Long, and their esteemed physicians spoke and recognized those who made this vision a reality. As a unique conclusion to the event, guests were invited to tour the Nicotra Grown Organic Rooftop Farm, and received gifts of fresh basil and radishes, celebrating the connection between health, sustainability, and community. It is root veggie season on the Farm. A beautiful day, rooted in a shared vision for growth for our Staten Island community. #MountSinai #HealthcareExcellence #CorporateCommonsThree #Cardiology #Endocrinology #Pulmonary #Gastroenterology #Gynecology #Urology #HealthInnovation #CommunityHealth #CancerCare #MultispecialtyCare #NicotraGrown #SustainableHealth #RooftopFarm #FreshBasil Jordan Spano Matthew Rose Jennifer Finch Jan Somma-Hammel Mount Sinai Health System

$150,000 gifted in a 30 minute Award Ceremony. That's $5,000 a minute. But it took so much work to get there - and we have more to do. The Nicotras are game changing #philanthropists for the #StatenIsland community - and they are still working 7-days-a-week to make these #philantrhopic moments happen for our #community. #CommunityBuilding is a part of their work and their goal is to leave Staten Island a better and more flower-and-art-filled space, from shore to shore. These two people are turning their entire business into a force for good through The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation, and our #urbanagriculture farm and #socialenterprise eateries will be the game changers for our Borough. ...if the The New York Times did a 'day in the life' of a Sunday for the Nicotras, it would take us from their Rooftop Organic Farm, to a Brunch table in their Lorenzo’s Restaurant, to a community event in their Hilton Garden Inn, to a community event in a local house of worship... They are on a campaign for our community. And everything we do, in the end, is for the Borough. We are building community, one grant at a time.

  • A visit from a legend. ??

A visit from a Staten Island legend! Ellen Pratt, who taught Lois & Richard Nicotra Social Studies at Susan E Wagner High School and also shared bigger lessons with many in our community as an environmental conservationist with Protectors of Pine Oak Woods, visited with her friend, Ellen Overby. Protectors of Pine Oak Woods was originally first formed to preserve Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve in 1975. It has long been our community’s voice for green spaces. Ellen Pratt is responsible for saving a lot of the woodland on Staten Island and the Nicotras admire her work. They hoped that as we looked at the The Nicotra Group’s Corporate Park of Staten Island form the vantage point of Nicotra Grown: Organic Rooftop Farm, and the 415 acres of land, much of it preserved and undeveloped, protected by the Nicotras’ Bloomfield Conservancy, they had made their former teacher proud. And they did! Ellen Pratt said she could not believe what the Nicotras had accomplished - and preserved. ?? Each Ellen shared a reflection that no real estate developer on Staten Island had put as much emphasis on green spaces and native plants ?? as the Nicotras have - and with the $1,000 gift from The Lois & Richard Nicotra Foundation to each elementary school on Staten Island, the Nicotras hope to ‘plant seeds’ with Staten Island students for their own love of art, music and green spaces, just like the seeds Ellen Pratt planted in her Susan E Wagner High School classroom. Life-long conservationist and Advance Woman of Achievement Ellen Pratt inspired Staten Island’s largest private real estate developers, Lois (also a Woman of Achievement) and Richard Nicotra, to make sure the Sweet Bay Magnolia and other native plants, as well as the #Wetlands around their office buildings, were preserved. If you look up at the names of the venue rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn (Staten Island), you will see they are named after the native plants that surround the Nicotras’ Hilton and Hampton Inn by Hilton Staten Island. By lifting the #construction steel over full growth trees, the Nicotras were able to preserve the native plants and trees. As we took a stroll, Ellen and Ellen said thank you. And so did we. What a beautiful thing eduction and #communitybuilding is…and how lucky we are when we can express #gratitude to the people who are a part of our story. Another reason to LOVE Staten Island. ————- The Bloomfield Conservancy is a not-for-profit corporation created by Lois and Richard Nicotra to maintain and preserve the wetlands within the Corporate Park of Staten Island and maintain and beautify the public areas around the Corporate Park, including the median on South Avenue. The Bloomfield Conservancy strives to promote the preservation and protection of the environment, wetlands and endangered trees and knowledge of local plant and animal life within the #Conservancy.??

  • Building community, one project at a time. ?? This is the Nicotras’ first philanthopic effort to feature their name in perpetuity - and the first time their name and design efforts will influence spaces and experiences outside of their South Avenue Corporate Park of Staten Island developments. This is a moment for the Nicotras and for our Nicotra Team.

The Nicotras truly have a HANDS ON approach to projects… ?? ?? ?? Lois & Richard Nicotra have gifted Northwell Health with more than the funding for The Heart Institute at Staten Island University Hospital, which is being renamed the Lois & Richard Nicotra Heart Institute. Yes, the funding will ensure the future mission of SIUH to build programs that serve and care for Staten Islanders. We deserve that! ?? The Nicotras have also gifted their time and their talents, as well as the talents of our trusted vendor partners so that the entryway can be reimagined and Patient and Guest arrival to the Hospital will be a bright and cheerful experience, infused with Nicotras’ unique and imaginative approach to hospitality, landscaping and colorful, signature artwork. We deserve that too! ?? Staten Islanders deserve the best in healthcare and in everyday experiences too! We LOVE Staten Island! ?? And yes, Mrs. Nicotra is measuring space herself to make sure that as they select pieces they are confident about the measurements. ?????? We remember. In collaboration with the September 11 Foundation Memorial, Lois & Richard Nicotra have partnered with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, the City’s arts and cultural community, and NYC Tourism in five-borough programming commemorating this important anniversary in a “Tribute of Lights” on 9/11 and 9/12 as we work together to illuminate the NYC skyline in Memorial Blue to accompany the museum’s iconic annual public art installation of twin beams projected into the night sky. The Nicotra Group’s Corporate Commons Three at 1441 South Avenue illuminates in remembrance. The Nicotras’ tribute to September 11th and a piece of the World Trade Center steel is present at the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Staten Island in our Memorial Garden every day. We speak the names of loved ones to honor them. We welcome your memories to ensure that the story of the day that changed us and the lives we lost does not fade. We remember. Always. #911museum #911 #WeRemember
