关于我们
Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides the community with countless educational opportunities to understand and respect our precious Earth and its living ecosystems, from the Utah deserts and mountains, to rain forest habitats, to the planet’s vast oceans. Loveland Living Planet Aquarium has become one of Utah′s most unique and popular attractions, and is definitely a must-see if you are planning a trip to Utah. Exhibits feature sharks, rays, seahorses and jellyfish as well as octopus, eels, piranha, a rescued Green sea turtle and Gentoo penguins! It is a unique opportunity for the many landlocked Utahans, particularly children, who have not previously had the chance to interact with such creatures.

It's International Educator Week!?????? We are so lucky to have such a dedicated and hard-working Education staff here at the Aquarium! Members of the Education team come from multiple countries and have diverse educational and experiential backgrounds. Every day, educators share their passion and curiosity with guests in meaningful interactions to inspire the Aquarium's visitors. The Education team shares the Aquarium's mission with students throughout Utah and with the Aquarium's visitors through structured and informal programs. In the 2023-2024 school year, the Education Department visited almost 80,000 students and 3,000 teachers at over 600 schools across Utah! In 2024 to date, educators have engaged nearly 600,000 guests in experiences like Nature Storytime, learning stations, demonstrations, and presentations. We've spotted a new animal at the Aquarium... ?? We are so excited to announce we have a new zebra shark! She lives with our other sharks in the Ocean Explorer habitat and is doing well acclimating to her new space. But she needs a name, and we need YOUR suggestions to help us! Need some ideas? Here are some zebra shark facts to get the creativity flowing: ??This species of shark is usually found swimming around the Tropical Western Pacific and Indian Oceans, as well as the Red Sea. ??As juveniles, zebra sharks have dark bodies with yellowish stripes. As they mature, the pattern changes to small dark spots on a grayish-tan background. ??Zebra sharks can squeeze into narrow crevices to search for food. ?? They have quite an impressive tail, measuring nearly as long as the body itself. ??They are nocturnal sharks and spend daylight hours lying along the ocean floor (similar to a nurse shark!). Now that you've gotten to know her a bit more, click the link in our bio and get to suggesting! Submissions are open NOW and will close on Sunday, November 17, at 11:59 PM. When the winning name is announced, those who suggested the winning name will receive two (2) Aquarium passes!
