关于我们
Established in 2001, The Little Bit Foundation is committed to breaking down barriers to learning for students living in poverty through partnerships and programs that serve the needs of the whole child. Our aim is to empower students to achieve their academic goals and dreams for the future, while leaving an imprint of love and hope on young lives for whom a little bit means a lot. in 42 schools and serving 14,000 students a year, our 200+ staff and volunteers develop strong partnerships with sponsored schools to offer consistent, empowering hope to children in need. Our presence in the schools, working one-on-one with each child, combined with providing necessities such as clothing, shoes and coats, ensures each child’s personal dignity and has the power to change lives.

It's officially spring, a time of new beginnings and a perfect time to announce our New Home Celebration! It's been more than two-and-a-half years since a historic flood displaced us from our headquarters in Brentwood. Today, we have a new, permanent home and invite you to see it, along with what the future holds for us! Our new home represents a future of continued growth, action, purpose, and love for those we serve across the St. Louis region. We will officially cut the ribbon on the morning of the 10th, followed by a celebration and open house in the afternoon, and hope you can stop by! Please kindly RSVP by Apr. 7th here: https://lnkd.in/guBZbc38

It's been one year ago this month that we celebrated our new partnership with East St. Louis School District 189! "I definitely came into a family,” says Shai Thomas, Little Bit Program Coordinator responsible for the services at ESTL's Annette Officer Elementary School (pictured). “From the security officer to custodian, every member of the school is looking out for the wellbeing of students and families, and I know many teachers had been paying out of pocket to help address their basic needs. I’m so glad that Little Bit is here.” Thomas admits that she wasn’t fully aware of the trueness of “When you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you do good.” “The students are so thankful and excited for the smallest of things, often in disbelief when we say, ‘yes, you can take that home,’” she says. “Sometimes, the teachers will tell me that ‘so and so needs a little TLC’ and I’ll ask them to help me in the boutique, or just spend time with them. We call ourselves ‘Little Bit’ but we do a lot.” Read more about the impact of our partnership at ESTL here: https://lnkd.in/gBQD2szZ

Our Academic programs team is in instruction mode this week as they bring LINGO to students at Central Middle School! LINGO is a series of interactive STEM projects created by our friend and former NASA rocket scientist, Aisha Bowe, who is headed to space very soon! Students at Central Middle are "In the Driver's Seat" with their project, building and programming a car's back-up sensor prototype, and we're proud to say as we celebrate #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience this week that there is a good representation of young ladies in the group!

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - a day on! Dr. King left a legacy of service and challenged each of us to become part of something bigger than ourselves by helping others. Today, we honored his life with our largest day of service yet in our new facility, hosting more than 140 volunteers from the St. Louis Metro chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, LEAD STL, Metro Academic and Classical High School, and our Little Bit Board of Directors, along with a special visit from St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page! Volunteers completed projects that helped prepare us for supporting more than 17,000 students in the second semester, including tagging socks and underwear, unpacking new uniforms, sorting and stickering books, and writing notes of encouragement to students. THANK YOU to all who came out in service today and to Dr. King for setting an example for us! #MLKDay
