The Lids Foundation is excited to announce our continued partnership with The Arc of the United States, the largest advocacy organization in the United States for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. Our donation this year will celebrate the success of students with disabilities and the public schools that foster a culture of success for all students. The Lids’ support will also provide 150 scholarships to parents, educators, and students, promoting access to The Arc curriculum across the country so that parents and educators can better work together to advance academic achievement for children with disabilities.

Last week in NOLA for the Super Bowl we hosted our friends at Fanatics and Make-A-Wish America for a special shopping experience at our Lids Locker Room Riverwalk location. The kids got to shop for their Super Bowl gear with a few surprises as well! NFL's Jahmyr Gibbs and Tristan Wirfs along with Arizona State's Cam Skattebo surprised the kids, spent time with them and signed autographs. Lots of memories were made! #lidsgives

Our Military Kids is proud to announce that The Lids Foundation has officially crossed the $1 million mark to fund a cumulative 3,300 OMK sports activity grants since 2013! ?? This crucial support makes a significant difference in the lives of military children like Russell (6), whose father has served on three National Guard deployments throughout his life. Each time, OMK activity grants kept him active, connected, and thriving. “This is Russell’s first time playing T-ball thanks to Our Military Kids,” said his father, an Army National Guardsman. “Thank you for supporting him – it means a lot.” The Lids Foundation’s recent investment will ensure OMK continues to support every eligible military child. For the third year in a row, the Lids Foundation is proud to partner with Seas of Trees. Seas of Trees is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to advance global reforestation efforts, combat climate change through effective carbon sequestration, and foster community engagement in environmental stewardship. The Lids Foundation has fully funded their Wilson Mesa Project where they will be planting 1,000 trees. This is a 50-acre parcel of open mesa land with a historic pond and abundant wildlife. This mesa is losing its native forests due to pressures from elk browsing, climate change, development, and cyclical forest health pathogens. Tree planting is essential to restoring and strengthening the ecosystem. Go to seasoftrees.org to find out more about their efforts. #lidsgives

Our last stop for our Winter Series was in Sunny Miami! Here we visited Norland Elementary where their Principal, Dr. Spence, made sure everyone was wearing their Miami Dolphins gear. What the kids thought was just a spirit day, was really a day that all 526 kids would receive brand new shoes and hats, with Anthony Walker Jr., linebacker for the Miami Dolphins, helping us out. It was nothing but smiles and excitement throughout the day and it was the perfect way to close out our incredible Winter Series.
