(LawNY)-- work toward a community where all individuals have access to justice and their fundamental needs. Monroe Community College had a strong showing at the New York Community College Trustees (NYCCT) 70th?Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs last weekend. ? Gretchen Wood, VP Institutional Advancement, Executive Director, MCC Foundation, President Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna, MCC Board of Trustees Chair Allen Williams, Julianna Frisch, Director, Health Care Programs, and Carol Tegas, CEO of Finger Lakes Performing Provider System co -presented “Working Together to Overcome the Local Healthcare Workforce Crisis: Pipeline and Education”. ? MCC Trustee Carla Palumbo was the recipient of the Donald M. Mawhinney JR., Leadership Award.?The award is presented to a trustee who has demonstrated a significant commitment to the community college mission through exceptional leadership, inspired vision, and outstanding professional contributions in support of the goals and accomplishments of their local campus. MCC Foundation Director Lauren Dixon received the Friend of Community College Award.?This is the highest accolade NYCCT can award to a non-trustee.? ? MCC Board of Trustee Chair Allen Williams, was recognized for his exemplary service as the Chair of the NYCCT. In his last official act, as the outgoing Chair of the NYCCT, he acknowledged the retirement and strong commitment to community colleges of The State University of New York?Senior Vice Chancellor for Community Colleges and the Education Pipeline Johanna Duncan-Poitier at the awards banquet.

The establishment of resources to help stabilize housing reflects and incorporates the urgent need for our courts across the state to explore alternatives to eviction.
