2024 was a transformative year at The LEAGUE! ?? We made STEM education accessible to hundreds: ??? 740 kids received free programming classes. ?? Partnered with local schools and libraries to deliver 75+ events and free courses in Python, Linux, Microcontrollers, and more. ?? Worked with amazing partners like Qualcomm, San Diego Library DiscoverU, DNamic, and United Way. This was only possible thanks to our dedicated volunteers—14 advanced student mentors, 13 adult educators, and inspiring guest experts. But we’re just getting started. We have partnered with the San Diego Public Library and couldn't be more thrilled!!! This partnership allows us to extend the reach of our mission and provides San Diego's youth new opportunities to learn computer programming. Over the last two Thursdays Kids at The LEAGUE Learned how to give an old laptop new life by putting Linux on it. They learned how to install Linux on older and slower laptops followed by the basics of Bash on their renovated Linux machines. A big thank you to our special guest volunteer and presenter Isaac Hudson for making this series of events one to remember!
