Leaders are so often expected to just “figure it all out” but “figuring it out” is easier said than done. I developed THE Leadership Academy because I realized through my conversations with leaders across many companies within a variety of industries that many people found themselves in leadership positions because they performed well in their previous roles. Now, they were leading people with limited leadership training, mentorship and resources; they were left to "figure it out" on their own. I knew that life would be much easier for any people leader if I could share my knowledge, provide resources, and teach useful skills that could be applied in their daily life. I think there are many times where we assume that people will operate the way we would or make the same decisions as we would in a situation. When you become a people leader, you quickly realize that this is not the case. People are very different from one another – their values, talents/strengths, the way they reason or think, and the actions they take in a situation are all person specific.
