We love our local community and Alpine Bank has been championing for TKEF for years. For our second clinic of 2025 Alpine provided us a beautiful meeting house to share space for the week. We began and ended each day in Alpine room. We shared meals, stories, laughter and even completed a 1,000 piece puzzle (thanks to Tegan) by the end of the week. We were grateful to have the President of Alpine, Glen join us for our farewell dinner. We appreciate him spending time with us and getting to know the ladies. We are forever thankful for his support. We are a small but mighty nonprofit and couldn't do what we do without your support. A huge shoutout to BigHorn Toyota for their continuous support of TKEF and the lady vets! For our 2025 Women Veteran Snowboarding Clinics they provided a safe and comfortable ride to get the ladies up and down the mountain each day. What a week we had for our 10th Women Veteran Snowboarding Clinic! Keegan, Antoinette, Brianne, Victoria, and Tegan were the perfect group of ladies to celebrate this milestone with us. Every one of them absolutely killed it on the mountain and brought so much laughter and joy throughout each day. Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for everyone that made this week possible. Special shoutout to the alumni that joined us and were the cherry on top of our 10th WVSC! Amber, Bren, Leah, Lisa, Kathryn, Alley, and Val we love you! It is a perfect day on the mountain to kickoff our 10th Women Veteran Snowboarding Clinic. Everyone arrived safely and although we faced a slight delay due to winter weather the ladies are ready to go! We had Lady Vet Christmas this morning when Tegan, Antoinette, Brianne, Keegan, and Victoria were gifted their gear and boards. They are currently in lessons with our wonderful instructor Andrew. Help us give a warm welcome to our final lady vet joining us next week for the clinic- Tegan! Tegan served 23 years in the Marine Corps as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer. She learned the value of servant leadership, with every service member she served alongside teaching her a lesson about how she could better serve her country, the Corps, and her family. The unique challenges she faced whether in garrison or a combat zone forced her to adapt to unusual circumstances, develop resilient behaviors, and strengthen her mind, body, and spirit. Since retiring, she has continued that approach using opportunities to learn from others and seek self improvement. Tegan works with talented people across many industries as a Professional Leadership Coach. As a working spouse and mother of two boys, she loves setting conditions for women to rise and thrive in their daily lives. Before joining the Marine Corps, Tegan spent her formative years in Colorado Springs. She always wanted to take lessons in snowboarding and has felt the call of the Rocky Mountains. Joining us next week is Victoria! Victoria served five years active duty and four years in the reserves as a Marine. Being a female in the Aviation field was a struggle, but she trained and studied extremely hard to stay competitive. During her service, she did more physically than she ever thought she was capable of and lived, sweat, and bled with the strongest and smartest people she has ever known. Victoria made friends that became family and they shared good and bad experiences that only they can relate to and understand. Victoria finds peace in the mountains and on the water. She stays very active in the outdoors in the spring and summer. She has always wanted to learn to snowboard and is excited to have it as a winter activity that brings her out into nature. She is looking forward to sharing the experience with a group of amazing ladies and future lady vet snowboard trips. We have witnessed beautiful friendships over the years as the ladies bond through snowboarding and their military service. Welcome Brianne to TKEF's lady vets! Brianne served five years as a Marine and earned the rank of Sergeant. She attributes her time in service as showing her the many challenges she can overcome that most couldn't even fathom. She holds great pride for her time in the Marines and has faced the reality that women are often not considered veterans. She aims to always be the example of women who serve knowing respect gets respect. Brianne recognizes that veterans share a like minded approach to life and she is looking forward to meeting her fellow lady vets. She is excited to learn new skills and an additional sport she can add to her long list of favored ways to spend time in the outdoors.
