This is such a valuable reminder! At The Kipos Group, we believe in empowering our team to embrace a "responsible" mindset. It fosters a healthier work environment and ultimately leads to greater impact! Thanks to Julia C. Patrick from The Nonprofit Show for sharing this insightful perspective!??
"If I don't do my job well, people die". Julia C. Patrick and I talked about this last week. Its such a pervasive mindset I wanted to do more to address it... 70% of nonprofit leaders are experiencing severe burnout, and 45% are considering leaving the sector entirely. Several decades ago Rich Hurst sat me down. He said: There's a crucial difference between being "responsible for" something versus being "responsible to" something. Being "responsible for" means carrying the weight of every outcome on your shoulders. Being "responsible to" means doing your part, what you can control that enable success while maintaining healthy boundaries. This simple shift is helping leaders: ? Build sustainable donor relationships ? Create high-performing fundraising teams ? Navigate economic uncertainty ? Maintain their well being After my conversation with Julia last week I also talked with Elaine Lin Hering she told me it was a helpful perspective and encouraged me to do more with it. This week we are releasing a full article on this concept. You know where to find it ?? ?? ?? Want to learn how to make this powerful mindset shift. Read the full article!
