More moments from our #LAWildfires collection drive. With friends from our #Atlanta partner for the project, the #WNBA’s #AtlantaDream, #TheKingCenter team recently had a hope-filled time with compassionate action in service to the #Altadena and #Pasadena communities! At Restoring One’s Hope of Atlanta, we sorted and boxed items from our collection drive that will be shipped to #California and disseminated by our partners there (#LASparks and #NAACPAltadena) to people affected by the LA wildfires. The King Center, led by our CEO, Dr. #BerniceAKing, is grateful for this and every opportunity to love and lift. #Care #Compassion #Community #BeLove #BelovedCommunity

"I prayed that God would give me the direction for my life, to give me the strength to do what it was and the ability to do what it was that he had called me to do. And I was trying to seek, 'What is it that I'm supposed to do, now that Martin is no longer here?'" #CorettaScottKing #SundayWithKing #WomensHistoryMonth

?? #TheKingCenter’s March 2025 #BookOfTheMonth ??? As we remember the marches from #Selma to #Montgomery and the 60th anniversary of #BloodySunday (March 7) ?? “Our God Is Marching On” is a message of determination, faith, and the unyielding pursuit of equality while remaining committed to nonviolence. At the end of the march from Selma to Montgomery on March 25, 1965, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood in front of a crowd and celebrated the demanding work and effort that had been done by all in the fight against racial injustice for the Civil Rights Act of 1964. ?? #TheKingCenter‘s #StudentsWithKing was extremely lively yesterday, with 500+ #students engaged in the interactive learning experience. Two #middleschools and five #elementaryschools participated in a #civilrights panel discussion and enjoyed an educational game about Dr. #MartinLutherKingJr’s Philosophy and Methodology of #Nonviolence. Esteemed journalist, Deidra Dukes, moderated the panel, which featured Celeste Beal (#Nonviolence365 Trainer with The King Center and niece of #MLK) and Malikah Berry (Assistant Archivist at the Center’s King Library and Archives). We were inspired by the students’ thought-provoking questions.
