Partnering with a rural Kenyan community to bring education and health care to preschool and primary school students.
关于我们
The Kilgoris Project partners with the local community to educate and feed the children of a Maasai Village in rural, southwest Kenya. We work hand-in-hand with local leaders and families to operate preschools and primary schools, provide daily food and clean water, and foster economic development.

?? Water for Education, Water for Life ?? #WorldWaterDay At The Kilgoris Project, our solar-powered boreholes provide clean, reliable water for our students, keeping them healthy, in school, and focused on learning. No more long walks for water, just safe, sustainable solutions that transform lives. Water sustains life. Education transforms it.???? As our campuses expand the need for hand washing stations and water resources continue to increase. We are still excited about the recent promotion of our very own Zach Carpenter as the new President of The Kilgoris Project! Zach Carpenter has been to Kilgoris several times since joining TKP. He works seemlessly with our Executive Director, David Lemiso, who oversees the Kenyan side of the organization out of Kilgoris. Zach does a wonderful job collaborating with our Kenyan team of 150+ staff members. "It has been a privilege to see the profound impact we’ve made together with the Kilgoris community, and I look forward to building on that success. As we move forward, we will remain dedicated to our standards of excellence, ensuring we continue to build rising futures for students, their families, and their communities.” - Zach Carpenter We're very excited for this new chapter! #TheKilgorisProject #NewLeadership

Story Time! When we share stories, we build bridges. Our Gender Equality program, in partnership with Girl Rising is using culturally-relevant storytelling to challenge stereotypes and inspire both boys and girls to reach their full potential in and outside the classroom.? #TheKilgorisProject #Storytelling #Education

During our recent trip, we caught up with Edwin at Nentekeny Primary, where he was happy and thriving in school. Edwin had a life-changing heart surgery as part of our medical intervention program in 2024, and seeing him back in school, learning and playing, was absolutely heartwarming. #Education #TheKilgorisProject

Get to Know Our New President, Zach Carpenter Zach Carpenter was born in the Mile High City of Denver and now calls Laramie home. When he's not flying the TKP flag high, you'll find him cycling (as coach, competitor, or casual rider), experimenting in the kitchen, exploring new places with his wife Morgan, or chasing after Tucker, his beloved dog. Our team describes him as an optimistic, charismatic, and enthusiastic person, qualities that shine through his leadership philosophy: "A team thrives when everyone's voice is heard." What draws Zach to TKP? "We prioritize perspectives closest to the issues we address. Our students achieve amazing outcomes through partnership. Visit Kilgoris once, it will change your life!"? #ImpactLeadership #TheKilgorisProject

Breaking Ground: The Power of Local Leadership in African Philanthropy The narrative of African development is evolving, and a few weeks ago, The Kilgoris Project took a bold step forward by hosting our first all-Kenyan philanthropic tour. As we welcomed eight distinguished Kenyan leaders to our campuses, we witnessed a powerful shift in the philanthropy landscape, one where local leaders take center stage in shaping their communities and the future. Our guests, dubbed; (Visitors with Good News) by our team, represented various sectors of Kenya’s social impact sphere. What made this tour extraordinary wasn’t just the caliber of our visitors, but the deeper understanding that emerged from having local leaders engage with our work. As they interacted with students at Intimigom, Oloilalei, Nentekeny, and Olticampu campuses, they saw beyond the surface of our programs to recognize the cultural nuances and community dynamics that drive our success. The two-day journey, culminating in a visit to the Maasai Mara, demonstrated that sustainable development requires more than just resources; it demands local insight, cultural understanding, and community trust. As we move forward, we’re excited to strengthen these local partnerships and continue building a model of development that truly serves our communities. #TheKilgorisProject #AfricanPhilanthropy #LocalFundraising Ashley Brigham Ashley Gasperi Buya Mukonzo Waihiga K.
