October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This year, we interviewed Hera Hub San Diego member Camille Lozano, Communication Director of The Keep A Breast Foundation. Camille highlights the features of the Keep A Breast app, allowing women to do at-home self-checks and connect with a healthcare provider virtually. The app provides educational resources and a community for women to hear stories from survivors, access video tutorials, and learn more about breast cancer prevention. https://lnkd.in/gcWbUMRG

It was inspiring to see women of all different body shapes, backgrounds, and experiences come together to support such an important cause. It's a reminder that we're stronger together, and that true strength comes in many forms. We raised a total of $1,600 towards The Keep a Breast Foundation. This event highlighted the power of community and solidarity. Breast cancer doesn't discriminate-- it can affect anyone, no matter their age, race, or body type. Wow! Instant karma in action, showcasing the incredible power of collaboration! We’re thrilled to share the success of our recent partnership with Dixxon Flannel Co. This beautiful collaboration included: - A custom pink and grey textile weave - Exclusive “i love boobies!” buttons - Custom eyeglass cleaner fabric featuring the Keep A Breast logo - “i love boobies!” woven label on the chest pocket - A limited edition "Dixxon loves boobies!" bracelet included with each flannel This thoughtfully crafted collaboration launched yesterday and sold out in just 30 minutes! When the team arrived at work this morning, they found 20 people waiting outside to grab any remaining units available at retail. What I’ve learned from this experience is that Dixxon does an incredible job of building community with their customers. When they launch a product with a meaningful message, it truly resonates and sells out! Tomorrow is October 1st, marking the start of Breast Cancer Prevention Month. Yesterday, The Keep A Breast Foundation had the honor of being the beneficiary of the Ride to the Warehouse event—a celebration of community for women who love to ride! This event reminded me of three of my “whys.” These three women have been in my life for a long time, each from different chapters—some from my youth, even before Keep A Breast, and others from the cancer community. Each of them has faced cancer, endured the toughest battles, and yet they continue to SHOW UP. They show up for strangers, they show up for me, and they show up to tell the world that we all must keep showing up. Because when we do, we see ourselves in ways we never imagined. To all the survivors I’ve had the immense pleasure of knowing, thank you for teaching me so much about life and the power of showing up!
