The League is able to provide consistent volunteer staffing to facilitate programming and spark creativity in visitors of all ages. In 2024 – 2025, Children’s Museum Houston Family Learning Night volunteers will provide over 600 hours of service supporting these events! Did you know that the Junior League of Houston offers one of Houston’s only FREE CPR training courses? Each year, hundreds of individuals and healthcare providers learn critical, life-saving skills through CPR courses, including how to respond to a cardiac emergency or relieve choking. Training is a core component of the Junior League's mission to create meaningful community impact. Through the CPR placement, members not only learn CPR, but also how to lead and train others. Are you CPR certified? Do you want to know how to respond to a cardiac emergency? Come and attend one of the League’s free CPR training courses offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Visit www.jlh.org/cpr to sign up for classes this spring. #CPRTraining #Training #JuniorLeague #volunteer

Congratulations to the Junior League of Houston's 2023 - 2024 Board of Directors for a fantastic year of service! This group of ladies spent the last 12 months serving as the Junior League of Houston's governing body and focused on the high-level strategy, oversight and accountability of the organization. These ladies honed a variety of skills—like volunteer management, public speaking, decision making and strategic thinking. In addition to developing leadership styles and nonprofit governance skills, the League's Board of Directors attended monthly training sessions on a variety of topics including: time management, Myers Briggs personality assessments, how to be a visionary, nonprofit governance, parliamentary procedure, how to read a Form 990, investment fund management, communications and diversity equity and inclusion. Over the course of the last year this board, in conjunction with their respective teams, managed over 4,500 members to contribute more than 70,000 volunteer hours worth over $2 million in volunteer time and raised over $1 million to further the League's mission. The League supported the Houston community through its community program and grant support by distributing over $600,000 to the League's community agencies and other Houston-area nonprofits. Thank you to the 2023 - 2024 Board of Directors for their dedication to the League's mission and "Building A Better Community" each and every day. The League cannot wait to see what each of you do next! Thank you Dorothy Ables, Mary Beth Black, Olayemi "Yemi" Brown, Cari Collins, Katie Doyle, Courtney Durham, Tiffany Echevarria, Michelle Esparza, Amanda Hanks Bayles, Kelly Hickman, Lisa Houssiere, Terria Hutchinson, Carson Kelley, Elizabeth Kendrick, Dionella Martinez, Marie Teixeira Newton, Brandy Pugh, Michael Ann Singleton, Margie Sutton, Laura E.
