关于我们

The Arterton Inn promotes excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills for judges, lawyers, academics, and students of law, and advances the education of the members of the Inn, the members of the bench and bar, and the public in the fields of intellectual property law. The Arterton Inn is one of the twenty-three American Inns of Court in the United States and in Japan that focuses on intellectual property. Members meet regularly to strengthen their professional skills in a collegial atmosphere, typically through hands-on practical programming and exercises. Meetings are held at the Federal Courthouses in New Haven and Hartford, where the Inn holds IP-focused programs covering a range of both federal and state IP topics including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition and false advertising. Programs range from practicum-based (e.g. mock summary judgment argument) to interactive (e.g. IP Jeopardy). At these meetings, Pupillage Groups comprised of members of varied experience levels employ skits intended to provoke thought and discussion on topics of interest to the profession. Members of each Pupillage Group teach by role-playing, conveying valuable information on identified topics by simulating scenarios for situations and issues that arise in the practice of IP law. Our meetings encourage broad participation by group members and audience members. By taking advantage of the vast and varied experiences of attendees, we all benefit. Our Inn is honored to bear the name of Judge Janet Bond Arterton of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, and to have the additional support of Judge Vanessa Bryant of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut
