Fall comes to Chilean Patagonia, spreading deep hues of yellow, red, and purple across the dramatic landscape.
关于我们
The Journal of Lost Time features stories about losing track of time. Our goal is to encourage timeless immediacy by immersing oneself in the history, culture, ecology, and geology of people, places, and experiences. Photography is the primary medium we employ towards our goal. Lost Time is a joint project of its editors and partner organizations, and is 100% user-funded.

"The days are impossibly short, forcing us to move in darkness. I feel the strength of this extraordinary place. The Asgard Plateau is inhospitable to humans. It is a place that freezes your blood. There is nothing on the horizon to distract your gaze from this flat, white surface on which the skis glide." From "In the House of Njord" by @caro.line.cote and @vincentcolliard on the first winter & unsupported crossing of Svalbard. Read the full story in the Journal. by Caroline Cote and Vincent Colliard

Teamed up with my pal Noah Smith to create this protest poster (based off a picture I took on BLM lands in the Eastern Sierra). Some days, I feel like I’m shouting into the void about our BLM lands.?They are beautiful! They are vulnerable! They are among the last places where a hiker, hunter, birdwatcher, cowboy, scientist, and off-roader can still stand on common ground. Even if we don’t vote the same way, we share something much bigger. When 1,000 National Park employees were fired last month, an estimated 20,000 people protested at 145 park units just two weeks later. The protests garnered widespread support because the Parks are deeply loved by the millions who have experienced them. Baba Dioum was absolutely right in 1968 and still is today: “In the end, we will conserve only what we love.” And that’s the problem. Too few people know BLM lands well enough to love them. 800 Bureau employees have already been fired. And by all accounts, there is a growing movement to dispose of America’s public lands. You know which lands they won’t come for first? The National Parks. If firing park staff brought thousands to the streets in just two weeks, imagine the outrage if they tried to sell off pieces of Yosemite or Yellowstone? No — they’ll come for BLM lands. The quiet, overlooked, least-visited places. The places they think no one will fight for. That’s why we are organizing a protest tomorrow in the Yucca Valley to rally for our BLM lands and the civil servants who manage them. If you're interested in joining us, feel free to message me for details.
