In fulfillment of its mission, The Jockey Club, directly or through subsidiaries, provides support and leadership on a wide range of important industry initiatives, and it serves the information and technology needs of owners, breeders, media, fans and farms. It is a founding member of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, and the Coalition for Horse Racing Integrity and the architect and sole funding source for America’s Best Racing, the broad-based fan development initiative for Thoroughbred racing. His extensive experience since 2006 and his role with the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities will continue to enhance our global and developmental initiatives. ? Amy Florence steps into her new role as senior vice president of Finance and Business Planning. Joining us in 2023, Amber has already made significant contributions to our financial strategy and operations. ? Shannon Kelly, with us since 2013, has been named director of Industry Relations. Shannon's deep involvement with The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation equips her with unique insights into industry challenges and solutions. ? Shannon Luce's promotion to vice president, Communications, reflects her pivotal role in our communications strategy since 2005, ensuring our message consistently reaches and impacts our community. ? Christelle M. is now manager of Cataloging for The Jockey Club Information Systems, bringing her expertise and experience since 2001 to the forefront of our information management. ? Recent data from the Equine Injury Database for 2023 reveals a notable achievement in our industry – a decrease in the fatality rate to 1.32 per 1,000 starts, marking one of the lowest rates ever recorded. The Jockey Club is dedicated to minimizing risk and safeguarding the well-being of racehorses.
