Warning Sign Wednesday! Suicide is one of the leading causes of preventable death in our nation today. We lose an average of more than 125 young people each week to this tragedy that can be prevented. More teenagers and young adults die from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED. Four out of Five individuals considering suicide give some sign of their intentions, either verbally or behaviorally. https://lnkd.in/eEGBJUUD

Sometimes, what seems to be a happy person is a sad soul. Make sure you check on your strong, crazy and funny friends because a lot of times, they are covering up for their sadnesses. Just call or text and let them know you've been thinking about them and just wanted to make sure everything is good in their world. It's okay not to be okay, but if you're not okay, please ask for help. Call or text 988 or for more pressing emergencies, call 911. If you don't already know the warning signs, please visit https://lnkd.in/ekcJ65G to learn the warning signs today. #SuicidePrevention #WeWontBeSilent #CheckOnYourFriends #EvenYourStrongFriends

February 15th! Annual National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day The National Association of School Resource Officers encourages schools and communities to recognize the valuable work of their school resource officers (SROs) during National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day on February 15 of every year. We established National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day in 2022, after receiving frequent inquiries from schools around the country regarding the most appropriate day to recognize their SROs. NASRO encourages schools and communities to take time on Feb. 15 of every year to let their SROs know how much they appreciate the work these officers do to bridge gaps between law enforcement and youth and to keep schools safe. An official proclamation appears below. https://lnkd.in/g9qDY76Q
