We enjoyed working with the crew and management team from CMA CGM to welcome the auto carrier Viking Odessa to JAXPORT????? The ship offloaded 420 new cars at the Blount Island Marine Terminal for regional distribution. CMA CGM is one of the largest container carriers in the world and also offers RoRo (vehicle) ocean shipping. The Viking Odessa is the carrier's first vehicle call to JAXPORT, which utilized our recently expanded vehicle berth. “This call highlights the excellent capability that JAXPORT and its tenant partners provide for passenger vehicle and roll-on/roll-off cargoes,” said Robert Peek, MPA, CTL, JAXPORT’s Chief Commercial Officer. Last year, JAXPORT tenants moved more than half a million vehicles, making Jacksonville one of the nation's busiest ports for total vehicle handling.

Personal care products manufacturer USA Big Mountain Paper Inc. joins JAXPORT’s Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) No. 64 ?? FTZ No. 64 is the state’s largest FTZ by land area and provides cost-saving options for importers. USA Big Mountain Paper Inc. manufactures and distributes environmentally-friendly medical products, including bed pads and adult diapers, from its 157,355-square-foot facility near JAXPORT. “The region’s additional advantages, including fast access to the growing Southeast region and outstanding highway and rail connections, make us an attractive option for businesses of all sizes to establish or grow their operations here, supporting jobs and economic development throughout our region and state,” said JAXPORT Chief Commercial Officer Robert Peek, MPA, CTL. In his role at JAXPORT, Primrose oversees regulatory compliance in key areas including maritime law, environmental policy, and safety. Unmatched transit times and direct connectivity with key Asian ports ?? Containerships from ZIM Integrated Shipping Services and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company are connecting Jacksonville, Florida with Southeast Asia ports as part of their new eCommerce Xpress/Emerald service that launched this month. The weekly service is a collaboration between ZIM Line and MSC through a vessel sharing agreement and offers a direct and rapid shipping route between Vietnam and the U.S. East Coast, with JAXPORT's Blount Island Marine Terminal as a Southeast U.S. port of call.
