The Interfaith Observer is a global online journal that uplifts inter-spiritual voices and celebrates cultural pluralism
关于我们
The Interfaith Observer (TIO) is a free independent digital publication for those interested in advancing interfaith understanding and cooperation. It is housed within the Religica Theolab inside the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement at Seattle University. The Interfaith Observer, casually known as TIO, was launched on September 15, 2011 by a group of seasoned interfaith activists and young adult leaders who cared about interfaith relationships and culture. It is a free monthly digital journal created to explore interreligious relations and the interfaith movement as a whole. TIO is published twice per year — once in the fall and once in the spring. TIO provides historical perspectives, surveys current interfaith news, profiles major stakeholders, and otherwise provides maps and sign-posts for the different sectors of an emerging interfaith culture. It offers a context to explore and respond to the new religious world we live in. TIO is designed as a resource for the general reader, anyone interested in the subject. But articles are filled with references and links for those who wish to pursue a particular subject. Along with examining our differences, TIO inquires into shared core values, offers various perspectives on the unparalleled religious diversity enveloping humankind, features skillsets and resources, and reflects on theological and spiritual issues.

Whitman’s higher view of the American Idea begins with “the problem of humanity” which is both social and religious. For him, “a great original literature,” emerging not from priests but “the divine literatus,” will become “the sole reliance of American democracy.” In a sense, we have to nurture those who will write our American scripture, and rely on the wisdom that illumines our way. This points in the direction of an indigenous religion beyond religion.
