As an award-winning educator, speaker, K12 consultant, and parent, I’ve witnessed the real power of AI firsthand—in classrooms and around my own dinner table. ??????I’ve seen my son, a freshman in college, use AI to make clear and compelling cases to better his local community. Causes like addressing racial disparities impacting young Black men in his community. AI has empowered him to voice his ideas more effectively and strive for real change. ??In classrooms we’re seeing 5th graders use the power of AI to create videos & songs about the honoring the voice of today’s student generation & elevating the unique differences of kids in their classrooms, communities, and schools. AI is giving students the tools needed to express their thoughts and inspire others. ??????Responsible use of AI has the power to help educators create more inclusive learning spaces for students; while also helping teachers reclaim their time. Ultimately helping them to create more moments connecting with kids while letting technology handle the mundane. But let’s be clear—we need parameters and boundaries on how to use AI responsibly. We need to teach each other what responsible use looks like. But at the end of the day, using AI responsibly can help us ALL create a more connected society—a better world that communicates and respects the rich diversity in our local classrooms, communities, and schools. Inspiring educators is what I do! This game-changing event will focus on three critical themes in education: equity, truancy, and support for diverse populations (homeless youth, multi-lingual learners & more). The point of it all… At the end of the day, what we remember most is how people make/made us feel. To my brother, mentor, and framily: Daniel Weisberg thank you for seeing ME.?? Thank you for “elevating my name, genius & unwavering love for children” in rooms I’ll never enter. ?? You’re stuck with me for life. ????????? I’m forever grateful to TNTP for the relationships, connections, and experiences that changed my LIFE ???????????

Let’s be clear. “AI is NOT the end game ????.” AI is simply the vehicle to drive & get “there” faster. So where’s “there?” For our/my predominately Black, lower income families & communities; THERE is a thriving life where we don’t have to “ride the struggle bus” daily…. And to get THERE we don’t need “saviors.” We need cross-sector solutions that close Digital Gaps starting with AI Literacy as a way to: 1. Enhance lives 2. Close wealth gaps 3. Prepare kids for high demand & high earning careers of the future Without unorthodox, cross-sector collabs and solutions across historically marginalized communities, districts & surrounding schools…. Let’s face it, in education We LOVE jargon??: “rigor, grapple, equity, belonging” and the list goes on ????♀? But what are we really saying? Well here’s my headline: Education should enhance lives. Period. Real equity leads to: ?? Better health ??increased wealth ?????? Empowered Families ?? Student Success …. and a bright future that brings joy, peace, love, and self-empowerment to ALL. Not just in “framework” theory, but through practice, impact & positive life outcomes. A world were we all win.
